Tenants in the office building at 1 E. Wacker Drive received a memo encouraging them to stay away from wearing suits, urging workers to "look like a protester". A spokeswoman for Los Angeles-based CBRE Inc., which manages the building, declined to comment on any NATO security measures.

What say you CSFMB? Is this a good idea? Personally, I would go with a big no. Not sure how things work in LA, but when CPD starts swinging billy clubs I think I want to look differently than those causing the problems. Maybe it's just me.

Finally, a day where I can show up to work without showering in the morning!

"Look like a protester" and "worker" does not compute.

I think it's a "blend in" deal. If you dress like you have a job and do stuff the "protesters" are more likely to hassle, beat, rape, punch, throw poo on, turn your car over, call you a capitalist pig.

I think.

During the course of this "event", who is more likely to cause me bodily injury?

Nato Protester = 35%
Chicago Police = 65%

If possible, I am working from home those days and keeping my unauthorized firearm (or baseball bat for the pacifists) very close.

Well, it had to happen. For the first time in my life, Being a Che Guevara doppelgänger is going to do me more harm than good.

Yeah, 65% chance for them to cave your skull in if you dress like a protester.

Living vaguely south/west loop, we got a 2 page memo on the door this week, trying to warn us out of town.

"Consider leaving town, May 18-22"

which seemed laughable at first, but then reading a little further down:

"Anticipate 100+ motorcades each day the Summit is in progress and rolling street closures to accomodate motorcades and protestors and security measures"

screw that, getting out of town that weekend.

I figured you'd take a shower after working the rooftops.

It's kind of ironic this movie is coming out the same weekend as the NATO Summit:
