...and best be careful if he wants to go into broadcasting...per BernStine.

Bulls did something. I'm not sure what, and quite frankly I don't care. But it will be discussed anyway.

Sox won.

Cubs played.

Other things will be discussed.

Listen. Or don't. Who gives a shit!

SHARK is washed up and on the outs. I think I saw him begging for change outside Union Station the other day.

Dave, it looks like we're in for some good old fashioned lecturing from BernSTINE today. And probably some bitching about the Bulls playing a playoff game, trying hard to win and actually winning and the fans cheering for the win. How dare they!

Possibly some Mann Act talk as well as some other things BernSTINE has no clue about.

I can't wait!

Yeah, I just saw the column. When did Dan start using everything--literally everything that occurs in any context whatsoever--as occasion for a stern lecture? I feel like he wasn't always like this. Maybe he was and I just got burned out.

Also, do we have any actual evidence that this...

Dan Bernstein wrote:
Understandably, Epstein and GM Jed Hoyer preferred to allot resources somewhere else than for a 35-year-old pitcher with a long history of shoulder and elbow problems. The start of the digging-out process involved paring payroll, concentrating on the draft, and sorting through any possible prospects by seeing what they could do. Wood seemed to have no place in this, now.

Ricketts, however, assured that he did. At the opening of the fan convention in January, radio play-by-play man Pat Hughes made a splash with the surprise announcement that Wood had re-signed with the team. You can bet Epstein and Hoyer were surprised, too, when the pressure came from above to make it happen.

...is true? Theo's not exactly immune to "mawkish sentimentality." I mean, we're talking about the guy who brought Bill Buckner back to Fenway to throw out a pitch. I think there's a good chance Dan's just assigning credit and blame based on who he likes and dislikes. (See also: "C'mon guys, Ozzie and Juan Pierre is nothing like Dusty and Neifi Perez.")

Steak dinner boom.

BernSTINE loves Theo, his lust and drooling over him when he first came over was as embarrassing as it was awkward. He loves to tout "BIG BOY BASEBALL" and such when discussing Cubs tradition and whatnot but loves to completely ignore what Theo did in Boston. Strange, I know.

Besides, baseball is all about numbers and computers and spreadsheets and Theo. Emotion, trying hard, all that stuff is false.....so why does singing GO CUBS GO, doing the 7th inning stretch with a celeb or whatever mean your not playing BIG BOY BASEBALL? What does it matter?

Fuckin' BernSTINE.

Great stuff from you guys. I agree that Bernsie is attributing what he deems good to his boy Theo and what he does not to the rest of us meatballs.

I like having K Wood around and agreed with the signing. Now it is clear he is at the end. Oh well. A lot of signings do not work out.

I like the 7th inning stretch.

I like Go Cubs Go.

I pay money for these, which then allows the Cubs to go out and spend on whatever they need to. Given the crowd reaction to these things, it is apparent to me that other fans have the same opinion. Maybe not all, but a large portion are signing along and cheering for K Wood. I listen or watch at least some part of most Cubs games.

This was Theo's call. I thought one of the big points of him coming here was that he wouldn't take any shit like that from Ricketts.

My reading of this will have zero effect on whether or not Sale goes on the DL.

It was late in the show Friday when it was revealed that Chris Sale would take over as the closer for the White Sox. Because of The SCORE's Sox Radio Network committment and a 5:30p pregame in Detroit, the guys were puzzled at the news and didn't have much time to talk about this move. After Sale's awful outing last night in Cleveland, and what pitching coach Don Cooper told Sirius/XM Satellite Radio today, I still don't know what in the hell the Sox are doing. It's enough to give everyone a headache!

I don't think Kenny holds a lot of stock in your opinion, SHARK?

Where did you play your baseball?

Here's the plan for this afternoon...

*3:30p: "The Second Half"

That's all they've got...for now. I'm not pleased at the White Sox' indecisiveness in regards to Chris Sale. Is he the closer or isn't he?

Producers: Jason "I Follow the White Sox Tonight...JERKS!" Goff & Matt "When Will I Be On Again?" Abbatacola
"Scoreboard Updates": Matt "On Billboards Near You" Rodewald

The guys are done at 5:30p this afternoon for Chris Rongey's White Sox Radio Network pregame in advance of White Sox/Indians one more time in Cleveland. Just like on Monday night, Goff follows the Ranger's "Xfinity Feedback Zone Postgame". Hopefully it won't take forever for the Sox & Tribe to finish. Goff will be on until Midnight followed by "SCORE Overnight" with Les Grobstein and Adam Harris.
