Zach is the one who comes off extremely professional here. He takes crap from B&B, most of the Bears players during Bears All Live and now Mac.

I don't particularly like him on the Bears All Access show, but he's solid as a reporter and update guy and usually has his facts straight.

We had the Team False Intellectual v. Team Meatball thread but there is also Team Professional Broadcaster v. Team Street Guy dynamic to the Score. Guys like Mac made their way in broadcasting at a time when Steve Dahl broke all the rules and paved the way for regular joe loudmouths to get on the air and spew their silly ideas. Steve Dahl was special but his imitators were weak facsimiles. I like Mac, but I doubt he could make the career he had if he were 19 years old right now. There's no respect at the Score for Zach's Syracuse degree and on-air professionalism and one day when Zach is doing the NBA Game of the Week on TNT guys like bernstein and Mac will sit around laughing about "can you believe he got that job???" and Larry will be saying, "That's my boy. I taught him everything he knows."

I wouldn't put Mac and bernstein in the professional category. They both have rather annoying voices. In the pre-Dahl era they would never been allowed to utter a word on the air. They're well-spoken guys and Both are good with grammar but they aren't polished broadcasters. As their stars were rising, polished broadcasters weren't fashionable.

Considering that ZZ has been known to go all Prissy-Pissed Off-Prima Donna even when callers innocently get his name wrong, I'll bet he was *plenty* offended. He's a jerk. (Not to mention a pathetic, zero-cred Bears stooge.)

No one in radio has ever thought of Mac as being professional. Just a thin skinned dick, who thinks he's a tough guy. When the relapse happens, which we all know will happen, watch at the shots he will get from the rest of the on air staff.
He got a pass when he pissed all over himself last fall, he got a pass when he cried like a little girl over the Olympics not coming to Chicago and he got a pass for his six weeks of rehab, and I think the lazy one is about out of passes. Just waiting for him to join North as the has been champ of the city. You know that day is coming and probably before the end of the year.

No, they have only given reporters a dressing down on air about how to do their job.
