I would be nice to win their 3rd straight series against a good opponant, but having Volstad going in Saturdays game make it a bit tough. They need to get him out of the rotation. I will be particularly interested to see if Samardzjia can hold the Brewers offense in check on Sunday. He's been really good for the most part this season, but I'm still not completely sold on Sammy. With the Cubs having as many left handed hitters now, I'm wondering if they might play Reed Johnson in tonights game? Maybe put Baker at 2nd or 3rd too?

3 more not good starts or just one terrible 1-1/3 IP 8 ER outing.

I think Wood would do better than Volstad. Numbers aside, I've seen him pitch extremely well.

His peripheral stats haven't been awful actually. His HR/FB rate is excellent, his xfip is average, 4.11 which is fine for your 5th starter. He's obviously not great, or even good for that matter, but I'd expect his era to start dropping to the mid to low 4's over the next few starts.

Hope they DL Marmol and send him to extended spring training for a long time. If they lose tonight, it's clearly due to his continued inability to find home plate.

Another bad Hendry contract.

He walked Braun ahead of ARam who doubled him home then Bowden gave up the lead after Marmol left with a hamstring strain. All in the 7th.

Been a long time since I saw a major league hitter take 3 swings as bad as Castro took against Axford. Holy shit was he overmatched and wanted no part of being at the plate.

Crazy long.

Could be worse. You could have to get out of that damn parking lot after the game.

Dolis looks hurt and not a fucking thought of coming out to check on him from anyone on the coaching staff. Swaimer's ability to manage a pitching staff is not impressing me. He lets guys die out there.

This bullpen is beyond embarrassing. Marmol, Dolis, and Wood can't throw strikes to save their lives. They had this game won twice, but for shit pitchers to blow it.

Dolis looked like he hurt his back during the inning and he hadn't walked a batter since April 24th so I am not lumping him in with Wood and Marmol.

Evidently....IT'S ON!!!!!!!

Paul Sullivan ‏ @PWSullivan
Dolis blows 2-run lead in 9th. Only Cubs pitchers left are Rule 5 and Rule 34.

Good AB by Hart and he didn't miss the 1 bad Dolis pitch.

Now let's win it!

The ump also failed to ring him up on strike 3 as that pitch track thing clearly showed.
