Except that in our culture ( I won't presume to speak for Europeans) Polygamy is rarely mentioned (except for BRick) because it is not a real issue. I'd also be willing to bet that Newsweek will no longer exist by the time this comes up in the general public.
Why is America the only industrialized nation with "for-profit" health-care? Because we are different. But that's beside the point - I don't care about polygamy and really don't think most people consider it an issue despite it's apparent rampant infiltration into Europe. I just object to it being lumped in with the discussion regarding gay marriage.

don't feel alone in that, zippy. the argument isn't even in the same league. polygamy is a cultish, brutish, medieval argument that doesn't belong in an evolved human society. any male arguing for it doesn't respect women, and it's sickening that it's even argued for legality. because, as i stated, this isn't for equal rights. this is another way that men want to control women. in this case, to control multiple women, for the rest of their lives. and get a tax break for it.
