And ALL of this shit with; Peavy pitching like a Cy Young candidate, the bullpen being very very good for the most part, Dunn hitting HRs and getting walks left and right, a previously unproven full time leadoff hitter in DeAza who has been getting on base at a pretty good clip, and Rios hitting near .300 while playing some fairly solid defense in RF. The biggest question marks for this team going into the season have either been great, or good enough to be with a game or 2 of first place up til now.

Sad is unfortunately the best word for the Sox right now


That said, I could see them winning 3 of their next 4, sweeping the Cubs, and then getting swept by a god awful Twins team at home

They will probably continue hanging around .500, but it's hard to win, no matter how good the starting pitching has been, with an offense that doesn't score runs. There are too many easy outs in this lineup. Until that turns around, they need the pitching to be near perfect most nights.

The Cubs have had a better record the last couple weeks and vs. better teams too.

Insert any team, the Cubs just happen to be playing them this weekend. I meant that moreso as this team seems streaky as hell. They'll look really, really solid for 10 games, then look like absolute dog crap the next 2 or 3 series.

Are the Cubs that much different than the White Sox? Overall, both teams have had pretty good starting pitching, some closer issues, and very spotty lineups. The White Sox have more threats in their lineup, but, both teams have plenty of holes.

If this were at the Metrodome, I have no doubt they would lay an egg. Two wins would be disappointing as the Twins are horrible in just about every aspect of the game. I wish the Sox could have faced Marquis.
