Yes, but they've been billing it as such.

Here's the game plan for this special Wednesday edition of the "Bud Light 'Who Needs Two?' Tavern Tour" with Bernsy & Goff from McFadden's:

*1:30p: Palm Beach Post's Ethan Skolnick on Heat/Pacers
*2p: Cubs/Comcast SportsNet's Len Kasper
*3p: CBSSports.com NBA scribe Ken Berger-NBA Playoff talk
*3:30p: "The Second Half"

Laurence "Mr. Multimedia" Holmes hosts "Xfinity Feedback Zone Live" at 6p followed by Chris Rongey's White Sox Radio Network pregame in advance of Sox/Angels from Angel Stadium in Anaheim. The pregame happens at 8:30p, while first pitch happens at 9:05p. Matt Abbatacola guest hosts "SCORE Overnight" after the postgame while Les Grobstein is on vacation the rest of this week.

Off to a roaring start today!!

- Show hosts discussing their "sports" injuries
- Falling off the toilet

And my favorite is the "why do you hate LeBron?" talk...gee Dan, maybe some people hate LeBron the same reason you hate Tim Tebow or Tyler Hansbrough, or the same reason they hate numerous opposing team players who make life on their team tough.

Bernstein hated Lebron for about a year too.

C'mon...why can't everyone just love Lebron like me and my sidekick/puppet Goff do???

Why does Dan care??? Who gives a crap if people hate LeBron???

The reason most likely relates to Dan's inability to recognize anything but the best as being relevant to sports....and he hates fans (meatballs) in Second City (Chicago) acting like fans and clinging on to rivalries and holding out hope for lesser teams (the Bulls) actually beating better teams, or the best team like the Heat. That defies his warped logic of how sports should work - it just doesn't fit his analytic, polarized mindset.

The more this guy talks the more he just becomes a caricature of himself.

It would be refreshing if they would drop their, "You should love Lebron" campaign. And they can stop implying that everything you hate about Lebron you loved Michael Jordan for. I don't like Lebron James, and it doesn't have a fucking thing to do with Jordan.

What bothers me about LeBron is two-fold. First, ESPN, ABC & TNT kept shoving LeBron down our collective throats when he played for the Cavaliers. Second, the whole "Decision" debacle with ESPN and a certain boob named Jim Gray 2 summers ago.

He didn't hate Lebron. He disliked the "Decision" just like everybody else did.

It's the "meatball-you only like the Bulls because of Jordan" narrative.

Fans of the Bulls might not like a certain player because he's a huge fucking douchebag!?!?!?! GASP!

Maybe we would get it if we all went to Drake like BernSTINE.

I disagree. There are a lot of threads in this section that indicate it was more than just disliking the decision.

Here is just the first example I found.

Taking a whole segment to shit on Vinny Del Negro?

The NBA colluded with certain teams and did the trade veto on purpose to help the Clippers? Vinny proof?

NBA EXPERT GOFF: "He doesn't have a clue about what's going on" , "he doesn't have any plays". All of a sudden you watch every second of Clippers basketball?

Why don't you idiots petition to be Vinny's life coach?

Go fuck yourself, guys.

This is false. He disliked "The Decision," but he also disliked the decision, if you follow me. He spent the better part of 2010-2011 expressing disappointment with LeBron for undercutting his own legacy by choosing to play with Wade. When the Heat pushed the Bulls' shit in, LeBron was suddenly an unstoppable, elemental force of nature once more, and has been ever since.

SomeGuy, I have a lot of affection for you, so please don't take this the wrong way:

It seems as though no matter what their stance is on a given topic, you go out of your way to find fault with them about it. Vinny Del Negro is a bad coach, and he sold the Bulls a bill of goods about what his intentions as a coach would be. He tried to sell them on his defensive philosophy...it didn't exist. He basically ran a Mike D'Antoni-lite offense and he commanded no respect from anyone other than Derrick.

What exactly did they say about Vinny during that segment that was inaccurate? Here's a guy who lucked into one of the best point guards in the NBA for the second time, and all of a sudden, he's patting himself on the back about how many coaches are congratulating him? C'mon man. Vinny is a straight up clown.

Vinny Del Negro was nothing special during 2 seasons as Bulls' head coach. His 2 seasons as Bulls' head coach? 82-82, 2 straight trips to the NBA Playoffs only to be spit out like watermelon seeds vs. the Celtics & Cavaliers.

He probably earned one more season as the Clippers' head coach with his team's first round playoff win over the Grizzlies, but that's it. Vinny was rumored to be in trouble when the Clips went through a really bad stretch during this crammed season.

He was a bad coach with the Bulls, but I don't watch enough Clippers basketball (and really, who does?) to make an assessment of his growth as a coach, what goes on in the locker room, what the players are saying in the huddle or the inside wheeling's and dealings between the NBA and the Clippers, I also don't know what Chris Paul is saying in the huddle. I'm also guessing the NBA Expert and BernSTINE don't know those things either and that they probably have watched as much Clippers basketball as I have.

He is Vinny and he has great hair but it is just this type of crap that rubs me the wrong way when I want to be rubbed the right the way.

Also: the LeBron talk has progressed from strawman to full-blown emperor's-clothes BS. He's the best player in the league. Fine. He's enormously fun to watch. No argument there. He's an amazing talent who does unbelievable things. Right there with you. Know what else? At this particular stage of his career, he absolutely, undeniably, irrefutably sucks in big moments. These facts are not mutually exclusive. LeBron James is not the player Goff and Bernstein want him to be, and engaging in increasingly labored and reactionary dismissals of his critics only throws that fact into ever-starker relief while undermining their own credibility--I mean, it's kinda tough to seriously entertain their critiques of "the Boo-yahs" when their every mention of LeBron is positively greasy with starfucking Mothership-style meatballery.

Agreed.

The constant attempts to split the "Regular Season LeBron" from the "Playoffs Shrinking in Big Moments Lebron" are annoying and StrawMan reliant. The problem is that his stats are super, his talent is supreme, his physical construction is superior but even during the regular season he chokes and shrinks from big moments....

If he is awesome with the statistics and such but can't close the big deals....then what type of player is he?

They just can't reconcile that and it's sad.

You can't suspend players and such for going out and getting fucking blasted and representing the team in a horrible light because half the NHL would be locked up but at the same time what Kane is doing is particularly bad?

Interesting.

Great post. All they're focusing on is LeBron purely as a basketball talent - size, ability, potential, but being selective about which arguments they'll field over his faults. Unfortunately for them the major fault LeBron has that will forever keep him out of "...of all time" lists is the lack of desire to be the man. If the ball's in LeBron's hands with 10 seconds left and he had the choice of taking the last shot or passing to Wade, he's passing to Wade ten times out of ten. That lack of killer instinct and subconscious desire to play second fiddle is going to tarnish whatever legacy he leaves behind.
