This seems to make way too much sense and immediately makes the Bulls the best team in the East assuming Rose isn't out for the season. Throw in some draft picks.

The Lakers rebuild by shipping out Kobe and then Gasol.
Rose and Kobe would be dynamic. They'd lose Boozer or Noah in the deal.

ESPNs NBA Trade Machine says this works:
Noah
Brewer
Korver
Gibson

for
Kobe

Now, maybe the Lakers wouldn't think that is enough, but the Bulls could provide some draft picks too.

Deng and Noah for Kobe works straight up too.

Am I off here?

Kobe would have to want to come here....I think he would

How much money would the Bulls have left? His contract esclates

n $27.4 million in 2011-12, $30.2 million the following season and more than $32 million in his final year,

It wont happen. Paxson didnt want Kobe 4 years ago and I just heard Foreman grill say theyre making moves for the future

Kobe, will be 34 and while some might say OK 34 is not that old he has 16 years of NBA wear and tear, maybe even more with the fact they have been in the playoffs most every year.

No

I think Kobe would be very interested in the idea, as I am about sure he cannot stand his coach and he is tired of the whole Gasol and Bynum deal.

But there is no way Gar-Pax does this...

I worry about his age. You obviously would be making a short term run and sacrificing any chance at long term success. My preference is always to build for the long term, even though many are more worried about just winning once and then worrying about next year.

I'd like to see Kobe on the Bulls for the "sideshow" factor that would undoubtedly be created.

Maybe NSJ can chime in on this, he's "in the know" in regards to Kobe to the Bulls.

I'd think a Kobe, who minutes would have to become very managed like Pop does in San Antonio, would be a killer next year come playoffs with Derrick

I'd be willing to concede that if not for Rose's knee situation. But it would essentially be Kobe without Derrick until about April. That team is a 6th seed.

No way. They're a 6 seed as currently constructed. They'd be top 3.

But who cares? Ill take my chances with Derrick and Kobe going for #6 regardless of seed.

Unfortunately, Kobe heard about this thread and responded

I see a little Piatkowski action in the background.

I remember this game specifically. It was just a nothing December 1995 circus trip game against the Clippers at the Arrowhead Pond. I was watching the game in the basement. Low ceilings. When Scottie did that dunk I jumped up and put my head through the basement ceiling. Not cool.

Edit: Yep Kamps, that was Terry Dehere.

I only remember Terry Dehere because of NBA Live 95.

Would love to see Kobe here but I think I'm witnessing the end of the last athlete I fell in love with as a kid. He just doesn't have it anymore. Everything is difficult for him now. It's kind of like watching MJ near the end. You knew that he would destroy the bum in front of him in his youth but now that guy is giving him a hard time on offense and he doesn't have the athleticism to stick with him on the defensive end either. IIRC Kobe would get a bump in pay if he were traded. If you told me Rose would be Rose next year I would consider it but I'm afraid Kobe will be MJ with the Wizards in 2014. Essentially a mascot that turns back the clock a couple times a month.

I think Kobe would just be happy to be around a group of guys that love to compete. He has to want to kill Bynum and Gasol. Both are a waste of talent.

Kobe would also love playing for a real coach. Kobe wants to be coached. He doesn't respect Mike Brown in the least.

That doesn't even come close to matching salaries with Miami in that deal. That deal doesn't work.

Noah, Boozer, and Deng each make nearly the same amount as Wade (Boozer might make the same amount).

I don't think the Lakers would ever trade Kobe anymore and I don't think any team wants to trade for that contract.

Damn i forgot about that Pip dunk. One of the best dunkers of all time.

I'd be for Kobe coming to the Bulls but i wouldnt give up Noah and Taj. Thats way too much for him. I mean Kobes a killer but if it takes for him to go 10 for 33 in the process then he can stay in LA

So are Noah and Deng, and a full strength Boozer ain't worth a bag of shit.

BAM! Done.

Great idea for Miami, they will trade a player that eat's up a large amount of cap space, for 3 players that eat 3 times as much cap space.

Wade would never allow a trade to Chicago. He hates it here.
