At about 9:50ish

Rosenbloom replayed the Ricketts interview from M&H. Tom was talking about how he met with black alderman to clear up any misperceptions and that he considered "those people" to be his friends. Rosie went wild. He thought he had the "gotcha moment". Grote came to Tom's defense. Saying that Tom said "those people" to mean alderman or business partners. Rosie would have none of it. In Rosie's mind, he found a racist!!! This is why Bernstein wants Rosie as his next partner.

Dan already called him on "those people" yesterday. The expanded quotation, "I consider those people almost friends," is even more dogshit-footed.

People like Bernstein and Rosenbloom can't help but let their far left political leanings come out when they see red meat. Thankfully, I don't listen to the station for their thoughts on politics.

What does this mean? Liberals who publically decry or call out any hint of racism cuz that's what they have to do to push what they perceive as the "greater good" of the liberal agenda, while all along being racist? Yeah. I hate those people too. I also hate Illinois Nazis.

I heard the interview three fucking times. I think Ricketts is a Republican douchebag who looks like he was born wearing a suit and tie and has his hand out for public money. But I didn't take that away from what he said at all. In fact, I didn't even get the impression that he was specifically talking about the black alderman when he said "those people are our friends". I thought he meant Chicago politicians in general.

But I'm sure he's a racist, just like Steve Rosenbloom. Where does Rosey live anyway? When people move to Winnetka or Deerfield who do you think they're trying to stay away from?

Dan isn't "far left." You can't really harbor and effect far-left views when you have a nice family in a nice neighborhood, which is fine, really. Priorities.

True. That's kind of my point. On the air he's a bleeding heart liberal that pretends to be appalled over hints of racism and injustices of the poor cuz he can push buttons and it helps the show. Off the air he's a "keep the blacks out of my neighborhood" type.

Not really. How many times does he say "WELL THEN FIND A NEW JOB AND MAKE MORE MONEY!!!!" when responding to callers criticizing high ticket prices and such? You can wrap that up with his totally ignorant comments about people in Englewood/Bad Neighborhoods where his take is "WELL WHY DON'T THEY JUST MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE IF IT'S SO BAD?!" Those two "thoughts" really peg him as someone who is totally out of touch, insulated from reality and an elitist....and dumb fucking douchebag as well.

Whatever.

Yeah. He says "Get a better job" or "Move somewhere else" to the white callers. Cuz it's acceptable to make fun of white trash. He doesn't say "Get a better job" when Goff cries about what the Score pays him. He doesn't tell anybody in the black community to move. Cuz he's scared they might find his neighborhood.

So I guess I should have said he pretends to care about poor black people. He doesn't pretend to care about poor white people.

Does he contradict himself with his positions at times? Sure. His main goal is trying to push buttons for 5 hours. So sometimes he'll contratict himself during this process.

But his main shtick is to be against poor whites, for poor blacks and making leaps that racism is involved when it comes to whites (Blackhawks fans and Tom Ricketts are just two examples). That's why Larry loves and worships him.

Actually....the "MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE!!" was in reference to the people living in the Englewood area. You know where that is, right?

They are actually moving there for better schools.

and that is why I rarely listen to the station any longer (except B/B show), there was nothing there, mr. weekend fill in from 1989 along with the same material pulls that out of his ass. I am going to assume if the precious chairman had said something like similar that he would have gone silent.

The Englewood thing was weird. If memory serves, Dan wasn't being snarky; he was legitimately bewildered that people wouldn't just move somewhere else.

Wasn't major assumptions one of the head guys running things over in Iraq during the early stages of the war? I think he was the one always jumping to conclusions about the wmd's. I was glad when he got canned. He was replaced by general reservation and now by general conversations.

Do you really expect people who earn a good living & want a safe & comfortable neighborhood for their family to move to Englewood? There is nothing wrong with people living wherever they want to live.

I agree with that. I'm don't begrudge Bernstein or anybody living in a nice neighborhood. I don't think we need to make white people move to Englewood just to prove they're not racist.

I can see that "Englewood" is a boogie man in this thread. When white flight takes place, are whites running from a neighborhood or from black people?

You know the answer.

"This neighborhood has really gone downhill." = "There are too many brown skinned people here."

i heard it yesterday..guess i am the only one who thinks rosenbloom was joking ....rosenbloom does not like ricketts and neither do i...so of course he will use almost every opportunity to make this dumbass look like a dumbass...remember rosenbloom gets 4 hours a week on the radio....and englewood is a shit hole ...most people living there would move in the blink of an eye if given the opportunity.
