I was out at the game yesterday and we were talking about how few guys there have been who have become better hitters once they reached their mid-thirties. Paul Molitor is one that came to mind. For me as a White Sox fan, I can remember a time when Frank came to bat and I thought it was more likely he would get on base than that he would make an out. Right now with Konerko is only the second time I've ever felt that way.

I was saying the other day that Konerko is short of being a Hall of Famer, but if he keeps this up for a couple more years, it's a different story. I'd have to say he's passed Appling to be the second greatest White Sox player ever.

The Sox have been playing out of their minds for about the last 10 days.

That being said, I believe this may be as close to first place as the Sox get this season. I fully expect a string of bed-wetting performances by both the lineup and the rotation soon.

I brought up in that same thread about if he hits 500 does he get in to the HOF. If he can get there in 3 years while keeping the average at .290 plus while knocking in 100 to 125 , I'd say he's a lock. Especially when you consider the fact that he's probably going to end up a career .290 hitter with zero fucking speed and by all indications he's clean. My second favorite Sox after Black Francis.
