Mrs. Newper and I are thinking of going up this summer for a few days at the waterpark owned by the Grand Geneva -- they have a pay for 2 days get the 3rd free thing going on. Seems like it might be less overpriced than the Dells and have just as much stuff to do (and less of a car ride, etc.)

You will be asking yourself why you ever wanted to stay for two nights by the end of the first day. It's a good time for one day.

Anyone bump into Mike from Milwaukee at the Wisconsin Chocolate Fest?

You'd recognize him as the fat guy in the beer-stained Dan Fogarty shirt who's passed out in a puddle of his own piss about 20 feet away from the Seroogy's stand.

Well he missed a ton of income on Sunday, people waking out left and right leaving empty seats.

This isnt even a debate. Michigan kicks the shit out of Wisconsin on every level.

Thanks for the love Hank, et al. The sunset coast has it's advantages.

Like any stereotype, the "FIP" moniker is a perfect fit for some, partially shared by most, and completely wrong for the select few.

Kinda like when you run into us clogging the sidewalks staring up at buildings and buying crappy ripoff Cubs gear in the drinking, puking, urinating zone.

I will say this for Wisconsin. At least it's not Arkansas.

Holy crap! When did they move Evanston into Indiana? Why am I still paying such ridiculous taxes?

We used to go to Door County several times a year (had a friend with a cottage up there). DC is nice and all, but that drive sucks ass.

I can get to places just as nice (and nicer) in Michigan in half the time. We've been going there for the past few years now and don't miss DC at all.

There are many great things about living where you live; proximity to a lake town with bad restaurants and dopey t-shirt stores is most emphatically not one of them.

Don't forget living in the same town as Mike North.

That's a good thing?

I'm confused.

The great thing about living in Sauganash is that I am far enough from rogers park bryan and parkridgesteph that they cannot walk over to the house unannounced but not so far that I cannot leave a lit paper bag of dog poop on their front door step when I need a laugh

Door county=Chicago on vacation. UP is more secluded and has some awesome vista's and is a lot less filled with Chi town yuppies

You can do Woodstock in 25. Straight shot up 47. 30 minutes out would be, like, Volo? Lilymoor?

EDIT: oh, she said hour and a half to Wisconsin

even where she is from it's more then a hour and a half. I know for us to get to the border we can be there in about 30-40 depending on traffic to head up 31/12.

Hour 30 is about right. As you say traffic on 12 is the wild card.
