Cora may be alright but he's been passed over for a lot of jobs since he became a supposed candidate.

The early reviews on Robin are pretty good. It seems as if at worst, he's got a good enough knowledge of the game to do just fine. I think the clubhouse will like him more as Ozzie was probably annoying to work for.

I'll take Robin but both are pretty much unknowns at this point. As OKC said, Robin not being tied to Ozzie is a good thing.

Cora. Thibbs was passed over for 20 years and he turned out great.

Yeah hiring someone just because they won't question the General Manager usually works out great look at Mike Quade

It's about time the Sox returned to the glory days of white managers.

Mark Buehrle specified Ozzie as a reason for him going to the Marlins...that and $56 million

Parody threads get deleted. This one lives on.

I, for one, appreciate how he told Konerko to hit .400 this year when previous managers would only ask for .300.

There are some good management directives that are directly attributable to Robin's attention during spring training: holding runners on and OF defense.

There are also some major decisons that negatively affected the team that are directly attributable to Robin: not recognizing Reed as the closer but still handing it to another rookie, handling the Sale situation.

You know my theory (especially in the AL) that the overwhelming majority of managers have little impact on the number of wins. I don't think you can look at the bounce back years of veterans Dunn, Peavy and Rios or Konerko's production, and attribute it to anything Robin has done as a manager. Those are why the Sox are winning.

Anyway, Buck Showalter has to be the front runner. One guy who should get more mention is Girardi.

If I was managing, I would tell my guys to bat .500

Why stop there? I would tell them to never get out and the first inning of opening day would still be going on.
