If we're lucky, Jason will get Alex Brown on to talk about the "Superbowl" - aka the Cubs draft.

Aggrey just can't believe how much racial shit you talk...that's all. And quite frankly, I can't either. Like
I said, every 5 minutes...

By the way, I think you're above that...and I think most on here agree.

I'm sure Jason had no idea that you prefer furnace talk.

It's a weak way to argue. He should stop it.

Lay off Goff.

Chris Harris NBA thoughts?

I don't know, did Harris have any NBA thoughts?? all I heard was Goff delivering about a 2 minute monologue about how everybody is down on LeBron just because he's LeBron. Was there a question for Harris in there anywhere ??

I'm getting pretty tired of the LeBron stuff. They sound baity when they talk about it too.

I think Goff is still good but he's lost some of that positive vibe he had before. Maybe its dealing with all the callers over time.Whatever the reason, for me his show stuck out because it was fun and he had a way of dealing with meatballs without turning the whole show into OMG PEOPLE ARE SO DUMB radio.

Maybe its because its done on B and B and I prefer a lighter show at night

Just my opinion.

Honest question for Jason: you dwell on the racial aspects of sports and life in Chicago a lot. I won't say that these subjects aren't fraught with racial tension, but sometimes it feels like it's the alpha and omega of existence. The knock on Larry here was always that each and every thing dovetailed into a discussion of race, and it seems like the same is happening again. Is it that you've personally experienced a great deal of hatred, or do you just feel that it's a good way to light up the switchboard, or somewhere in between?

And while we're in the neighborhood, did you ever hold Dan accountable for his fallacious "and no, before you ask, Soriano isn't really black" comments that began the baseball season? You yourself being of West Indian descent would surely know that there are some people--black, white, and otherwise--who would classify you as "not really black," the same way Obama is "not really black," and doubtless you would take umbrage to such an observation. So...?

Good luck getting that one answered honestly. Its a cheap way to drive the show CH, just like on here when racial topics are brought up and the thread goes 10 pages.

Wait, isn't he Belizean? Or is that a running gag I'm not in on? Mainland notwithstanding, Belize is culturally part of the Caribbean rather than Central America.

Anyway, I invoke Malcolm Gladwell with caution, since his books are like the USA Today of social science, but there was an essay in Outliers about how waves of Jamaicans, Bahamians, et al neither saw themselves as black nor were they seen as black, and that the latter is quite pernicious in that it allows people to double down on their racism, kind of a You're One Of The Good Ones writ large. So I guess my point is that the sentiment has been there, however silly it may seem.

I was cut off by a woman in a car and was going to yell a racial slur but she had a Belieze bumper sticker so I just stuck to an ethnic insult

I've reade quite a bit of Gladwell on the New Yorker. His style is fluid and good, but we never arrive at some kind of great revelation. He's a journalist after all. Bernstein's probably a huge fan if him because he thinks college football is bad.
