Looks like the BCS is going to a 4 team playoff structure in 2014.

The Rose Bowl is a sticking point, based on what I've read. Any BCS alteration won't occur until at least 2014, right around the time ESPN/ABC's current BCS deal expires.

I don't know if anybody is following this, but it's like we said we will have a playoff, but nobody knows how to get the Final 4 teams.

DO we go with Conference Champions or the 4 best teams, and if it's 4 best, what do we use to get the 4 best teams.

There's a report Bobby Bowden would be on the Playoff Commitee and already getting comments, that he will just help the teams that he coached before like West Virginia or Florida State.

Yesterday I was reading on CollegeFootballtalk, that the Holiday Bowl is worried that they won't get a very good matchup.

Here's the link to the story, http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.co ... landscape/.

There's also talk when to play some of the games, the Miss State coach Dan Mullen said he would like about a couple weeks between games so guys can heal from injuries.

I think it's easy to say playoff, but now you got the hard stuff to figure out.

Conferences should be rated using RPI or some shit and the winners of the top 4 conferences championship games should be entered into the playoff.

If you don't win your conference or don't win a good conference, you are out. With the new "super" conferences, this shouldn't be an issue because Boise State and Utah are in better conferences now.

Just go selection committee. Use the BCS Calculations as a tool to help make the decision.

Choose the 4 best teams, but make it a requirement you played in your conference championship game and make it so those two teams can't meet in the first round.

That limits it to no more than 2 schools per conference, which will make the SEC mad, but that's fine.

Why do I get this feeling nothing will be done and college football fans will be the biggest losers in this?

Do you really have a big empty place in your heart because there are no playoffs? I could care less if there are playoffs or not. Neither would really impact my appreciation for the sport.

Well, nobody likes the Bowl Championship Series as it's currently structured. Unfortunately, I get the impression that the Big Ten is very reluctant at best to change the current BCS system.

It could be better, but I like the current BCS.

I have no problem with the BCS either and I am also a fan of the Bowls.

I also think a playoff would take some of the luster off the sport.

My problem with the BCS isn't just the format, but the fact the BCS Championship game wasn't played until the second or third week...in January. That's too long.

I will agree with that Shark, I do wish they would get back to more games on New Year's Day.

So what happens if Notre Dame goes 12-0 or 11-1...Do they make the 4 team tourney?

Back in the day, that was truly the last day of the college football season, Reents. They should go back to that.
