Keep in mind I don't drink so I'm not really familiar with prices. But I was reading about the 5 Wives Vodka ban in Idaho, and that state government runs the liquor stores. In looking at a price list http://liquor.idaho.gov/PriceBooks/mont ... change.pdf, it seems that there are some big discounts this way. 18-year Highland Park is $20 cheaper than at Binny's and at least $6 cheaper than some of the online liquor stores.

I imagine the Wirtz family would fight this tooth and nail should we try this in Illinois.

Montana was like that too, but there it was JUST a 'liquor store'-- hard stuff and maybe some wine, thats it. The only beer they had was kegs.

If you wanted beer other than in a keg, you had to go to a gas station or grocery store.

I'm shocked that things are cheaper in Idaho and Montana than in Illinois.

Look at, like, Pennsylvania. Or Colorado, even. Or Utah, but everyone knows about Utah. Thanks to powerful lobbying from Miller, Wirtz, and Budweiser, respectively, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Missouri form an iron triangle of not giving a fuck.

Way too many laws on the books. Sheesh...
