I know.

I heard it when B&B played it that afternoon.

It still doesn't matter at this point.

That is all.

The lineup is in, and Paul Konerko is NOT in tonight's lineup vs. the Blue Jays' Brandon Morrow. These are the guys that are:

30 Alejandro De Aza CF (L)
15 Gordon Beckham 2B (R)
32 Adam Dunn DH (L)
24 Dayan Viciedo LF (R)
51 Alex Rios RF (R)
12 A.J. Pierzynski C (L)
10 Alexei Ramirez SS (R)
17 Tyler Flowers 1B (R)
5 Orlando Hudson 3B (S)

Jose Quintana does the chucking for the White Sox in the second of three on the Southside.

That I don't understand. Why not have Dunn at 1st and someone else DH? Lillibridge gonna catch if one of those guys gets hurt?

Frank, they had Brent Lillibridge batting 9th at 1B when it was revealed that Paul Konerko had a procedure on his wrist that prompted him to miss last night's game. Also, I think the White Sox are a little shorthanded in the outfield with Kosuke Fukudome hurting his back over the weekend. He's like everyone else...Day to day.

Limited bench....both catchers on the roster are playing today, you pinch run for one of them, down TWO runs, and then he gets thrown out stealing.

Wow. That's really bad managing.

Getting swept here would be awful. But on the flip side, the Sox haven't lost a series since Mother's Day so they were bound to have a few clunkers here and here.

Need Peavy to step it up tonite, but the offense has to score some runs. It would be nice to give Jake a nice 2 or 3 run cushion early this evening.

Got me a $5 upper tank seat so if anybody else is going, shoot me a PM

Jordan Danks called up, Fukudome headed to the DL.

Quote:
Triple-A Charlotte outfielder Jordan Danks is headed to Chicago to join the White Sox in time for Thursday night's game against Toronto, a source confirmed.

Danks, the younger brother of Sox left-hander John Danks, batted .302 with eight home runs and 28 RBIs for Charlotte. The younger Danks hit a three-run home run Wednesday night at Toledo.

Danks is expected to take the roster spot of outfielder Kosuke Fukudome, who left Sunday's game because of a ribcage injury.

It will mark Danks' first time on the Sox's 25-man (and 40-man) roster.

They'll have another decision to make once 3B Brent Morel is fully healthy and ready to return to the 25-man roster. He's said to be doing very good at Triple "A" Charlotte.

Although Jordan Danks has been called up from Triple "A" Charlotte to replace the rarely-used, and now injured Kosuke Fukudome on the 25-man roster, Jordan will be watching tonight from the bench and sporting #20 on the silver & black Sox uniform. The White Sox do have a certain someone back in the lineup. He's listed in bold as the DH tonight vs. Henderson Alvarez. Complete with their batting averages, here's the White Sox lineup tonight vs. Henderson and the Jays:

30 Alejandro De Aza CF (L) .296
15 Gordon Beckham 2B (R) .228
32 Adam Dunn 1B (L) .219
14 Paul Konerko DH (R) .366
51 Alex Rios RF (R) .289
12 A.J. Pierzynski C (L) .303
24 Dayan Viciedo LF (R) .265
10 Alexei Ramirez SS (R) .217
5 Orlando Hudson 3B (S) .159

Jake Peavy does the chucking for the White Sox, hoping to avoid getting swept by the Jays at The Cell for the first time since 1989 when the Sox played across the street at Old Comiskey Park.

Starlin Castro would get roasted for weeks if he did what Hudson just did.

This Orlando Hudson thing has about run its course. He gave the team a nice bump but now that he's starting to play like Orlando Hudson it's time to get Morel back up here.

Morel would never get a game winning hit.

Hudson forgot how many outs there were but AJ bailed him out.

But then Hudson won the game.

Nobody could really believe it. Ground ball was hit and crowd started cheering, figuring they were out of the inning. Then everybody held their collective breath as he threw home. Luckily, AJ as at the plate and not running to backup the presumed throw to first.

Hudson got the game winning hit, but he was terrible in the field yesterday and his hitting even worse than Morel. Maybe some at bats in the minors is what Morel needed to get his swing going.

Yeah, he's definitely playing out of position. He's got great hands but that ball comes quick over at third. And if you've been watching him the whole time, his throws aren't right. It hasn't cost them, but he slightly pulls the first baseman off a lot. Most of the time it's no big deal, but if he plays there enough there's going to be a time when it sticks out and costs you a run or even a game.

And while the numbers do say he doesn't hit any better than Morel, he's not overmatched every time he's at the plate. He puts the ball in play at least. He's what you expected from a nine-hole hitter (or eight-hole pre-DH) when I was a kid and that's what we seem to be getting back to. But maybe Morel's whole problem was his back. I know he also had some mysterious condition that caused him to lose a bunch of weight. In any case, I think Hudson has provided a little spark, but I don't see him as anything more than a stop gap over at third.

I think the deal was when the White Sox got Orlando Hudson, he'd be playing third base as well as occasionally giving Gordon Beckham a breather at second base while Brent Morel has been sidelined with back issues. Until Brent's back is pain-free, according to Robin Ventura, Morel's likely staying where's he at now at Triple "A" Charlotte. From the little I've seen of another switch hitter in Eduardo Escobar, he's not much better at either third or second base. I think the White Sox will have a decision to make once Morel is fully healthy and ready to return to the 25-man roster.
