As someone who leased these buildings in the 90's, TPeeps is right on track, but a building like the PITTSFIELD is one of the best buildings around. Great character and design, poor choices by developers since then in its renovation but unmatched in personality.

Big wow, more steel, higher, bigger floor plates, just not impressive at all.

Plus, wouldnt even want to list the defects here for fear of a law suit!

The buildings that Mr Capone used to distribute his 'hooch' via an underground system of tracks that existed before the Chicago flood are the buildings! Pittsfield, Monadnack, Fisher, Old Colony, Garland, Transportation, etc

After the flood, they sealed all of them up. Got to go in one time, wish I took some pics.

Look up the Chiselers club of Chicago, got to go into the space and you could see how cool this probably was way back in the day.

Here is an example of the Lobby, just in case you have never been to the PITT

If you are interested in architecture take the Hotel Lobby tour. Really cool tour. Also if you want a nice relaxing time have tea at the Hotel Intercontinental.

My personal favorite is Chase Tower on Clark & Madison near the church. As a kid, my mom worked across the street from there and I always thought the sloped/slanted base was cool as hell. Kinda reminds me of the Atari logo.

I'm also a fan of these new buildings near Soldier Field, it adds some much needed balance on the near south side skyline...

I was also walking through the west loop today, and thought about this thread. There is a LOT of great architecture in the vicinity, particularly LaSalle St.
