its a double edged unicorn sword. i dont see anyway miami can win these finals, but if lebron loses this time, he will forever be the biggest bum slayer of the universe.

OKC has to win the first two games because of the 3-2-3 format. I like that Perkins is that nasty guy who will take a hard foul on Wade. I hope the officials don't try to totally job the Thunder. If the games are close I can see Derek Fisher hitting some big shots down the stretch.

In game 1 OKC should smoke the Heat by about 15 to 20 points. The Heat did not have to go through a team like the Spurs to get to the Finals, so I expect OKC to cause major problems.

Ibaka/Bosh will end up being a huge factor, obviously. Bosh still looks rusty defensively at times but he's still pretty active since he's been back and moving around well, and even discounting the three pointers his jumper looks sharp and he's showed touch around the rim. If he can give them like 18/9 that would be huge.

Bryan, you really think it'll be a sweep?

i could easily see the thunder in 4. they are not scared of miami one bit. and im sure they dont like how everyone thinks miami is the best. they also have MORE athleticism then miami in total. as long as they get good night rests, they should be able to run all over the heat.

I am wondering if the officials will be a deciding factor in this series.

No, not really. Just hyperbole. I think the Thunder will win in 6.

I sincerely doubt that you are laughing out loud.

So, I take it you are riding the Heat train and think they'll win for sure?

Fo Realz. It worked out so well for Miami last year. They'll surely sweep their opponent in the finals again.

Yes he does. But don't expect him to answer you for a minimum of 10 days, and then only if the Heat actually win.

I could make a case for the Heat if I had to.

Im just excited, i hope its a great series (or The Thunder stomp em)

Putting aside SHARK's correct assessment that ABC is glad to have the Spurs out, the NBA couldnt ask for a better matchup of players.

But OKC and Miami are small markets. This series is going to be a boondoggle. Expect Grey's Anatomy and Castle to be cancelled to make up for all the lost revenue. Jerry Taft will have to go on food stamps.

I dont know what side you're arguing but the Spurs are death for ratings. Its as simple as that.

Miami # 16 TV market and OK city is #45

Higher than I expected.

Thats why I wrote matchup of players.

If the heat was the Knicks and the Thunder were the Lakers....then you'd break records

If The B In Apartment 23 is gone for good, we know who to blame.

If the NBA was as popular as the NFL they wouldn't care who was playing for a championship.

Globally the NBA is 10x more popular than the NFL.

It's simple numbers.

Basketball is a global sport, whereas American football is strictly a North American one.

Right, but don't you think the NBA would trade its international audience for a piece of the NFL's popularity in America? And if the NBA is popular around the world, then why does it matter if the Spurs get in the finals or not? Don't the international fans know the game or do they just follow the guys with the shoe contracts?

Here's another random thought: Does any random Dan Gilbert saying LeBron would take the Cleveland curse with him in Gilbert's letter to the Cavs fans?

Does anyone remember Karl Malone and Gary Payton trying to win a title by joining the Lakers and getting whopped by the Pistons?

I'm with the thought that you got 6 of the best players in the league, what media market they play in doesn't matter so much.

That's a dumb thought...

Heat in 6.

Hey Jbi11ington, just wondering why you think the Heat will win. Like I said earlier in the thread, I don't see any matchup that definitively favors Miami.

Westbrook chalmers is the only matchup clearly in okc's favor imo... I think Kendrick perkins is horribly overrated... I mean great he can play defense, and he doesn't take shit. Show's how far the center depth has fallen in the nba when perkins gets so much love. Lebron playing defense on Durant will be fun to watch... BLAH.

I just think you have 3 players in their primes against a team of young guys just about to prime... I don't think Lebron is going to be denied.

Thunder in 4.

Westbrook/Durant + Ibaka/Harden.

Too much.

And King James almost got sent home by team that was solidly past their primes. They won in the end but OKC has too much.

I think the problem is Durant. Only guy who can maybe slow him down is LeBron, but you dont wanna put him on Durant all game obviously.

I think the depth wins this series. Anytime one or two of the big 3 sit, OKC should have a huge advantage.

Really excited for this.
