I'll defend Mac on this one. ISTM he was not calling us sick himself, but going with B&B's claim that all forum participants of any stripe are sick, and comparing the relative sickness of us as compared to the Tribune commenters.

It's touching how the Bernsteins of the world have to force themselves to believe that all forum posters are weirdos to shield his ego from criticism.

Just read the article and the 92 comments on it. Most of it was people commenting that Urlacher isn't worth a lot of money as he nears the end of his career so if he truly wants to retire a Bear, don't pay him a lot of cash. This pretty well divides/defines the current Score from its golden age. North invited fans into his home. Bernstein considers listeners a nescessary evil. Terry always warned Mc Neil not to get close to listeners. I think Mc Neil has found that doing so has enriched his life (not just monetarily).

Mac brought it up completely of his own volition. They were talking about how boring Bears OTA talk is, then mentioned the Pompeii article as evidence that there's not much to write about this time of the year, then Mac mentioned reading the article within an hour of it posting and then said the comment. Berns hadn't been talking since the break at that point.
