WWE Interested In Acquiring TNA Wrestler, Former TNA Star At No Way Out
By Daniel Pena
Jun 17, 2012 - 5:20:42 PM

- Matt Morgan finalized his commitments with TNA Wrestling at last week's live event tour in Texas. At Saturday's show in Houston, Morgan grabbed a sign from a ringside fan reading "Going, Going, Gone" and held it up to the audience.

Morgan expressed frustration with management during a radio station interview Thursday promoting the house show tour, saying his "beef is with the company."

"I don't feel like I'm getting what I'm putting into TNA," Morgan stated on 102.5 FM The Bear. He then called himself the "ultimate head-turner in TNA" and said he's tired of a "carrot dangling in front of my face."

PWInsider.com has confirmed that there is interest from WWE in Morgan.

Meanwhile, Morgan wrote the following on Twitter today: "Texas yesterday, Connecticut today, who says u can't go home!"

- Wrestlezone.com reports three-time TNA X Division Champion Amazing Red is backstage at tonight's WWE No Way Out pay-per-view event at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. He ran the ring ropes in the afternoon.

^ Red is the head trainer of a school in NJ and no way out is in jersey. My guess is he's there with some students to get squashed by Ryback

I heard he's going to start a feud with A.J.

--C.M. Punk is scheduled on Jimmy Fallon tonight after Raw.

--C.M. Punk's title reign is now the longest since John Cena's September 17, 2006 to October 2, 2007 run. Interesting also should be the stat on what is the longest any WWE champion has ever gone without being in a PPV main event.

--The new show on Animal Planet hosted by TNA's Eric Young called "Off the Hook: Extreme Catches," is meant as a comedy show where he goes all over the country and tries to be a fisherman. It debuts on 7/29 in a Sunday at 9 p.m.

--Celebrating birthdays today include Larry Hennig (76) and Big Vito LoGrasso (48). Ripper Collins, who was a great talker and showman and a legend in the Hawaiian wrestling scene, passed away 19 years ago today. Rod Tronguard, a former AWA and WWF announced, passed away seven years ago today, while Trent Acid passed away two years ago today.

--Today would have been the 66th birthday of Bruiser Brody, who was murdered in 1988 in Puerto Rico.

Bryan Considered for WWE Title Change Again, Amazing Red Gets a WWE Tryout?, More
By Marc Middleton
Jun 18, 2012 - 6:28:36 AM

- Kevin Nash joked with fans that he will be taking over tonight's RAW now that John Laurinaitis is gone. He wrote:

"Running Raw tomorrow night, going to be epic"

- Writer Paul Guay is currently working on the screenplay for the Bruno Sammartino movie. Guay told F4Wonline.com that the movie will be completely different from any wrestling movie there has ever been. Guay previously wrote the movie "Liar, Liar" with Jim Carrey.

- As noted before, former TNA star Amazing Red was backstage for WWE's No Way Out pay-per-view on Sunday. Red was telling fans at the IZOD Center that he had a tryout earlier in the day but wouldn't say what came out of it.

- For the second pay-per-view in a row, WWE officials reportedly came close to putting the WWE Title on Daniel Bryan. Bryan almost went over CM Punk at WWE's Over the Limit pay-per-view and was discussed as the potential winner at No Way Out.

Too bad the championships mean jack shit now. John Cena has main evented 5 straight PPV's and hasn't been the champion in almost a year. Being the champion means absolutley nothing right now.

It means you get to be in random tag team matches every single week for no reason at all.

I just saw Punk on Jimmy Fallon promoting RAW 1000. He mentioned it once, suggesting he might do a snow angel in the ring. He also talked about corralling a turkey while working at a Speedway. He proceeded to do a snow angel with Jimmy Fallon without snow. I'm pretty sure Vince actually murdered at least one person yesterday.

VIDEO: Twenty minute Daniel Bryan radio interview. From Monday afternoon before Raw. I haven't watched yet, so if it sucks blame Dana White or Obama.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7A0SfjI ... r_embedded

My sit down with one of the best pro wrestlers of the last decade. We discuss his early days in wrestling, his influences, how much he does not meet Vince's traditional standards, and so much more.

now that I've listened, this was great.

1983 Wrestling Observer Yearbook.

Pretty funny actually. Sheiky-baby was wwf champ, Brody was alive, Hogan and amazon wife were newlyweds, Vince had just started his national expansion.

WWE TWITTER PARTNERSHIP UPDATE
By Mike Johnson on 2012-06-19 12:51:01

A highly placed WWE source has indicated that the company's new partnership with Twitter, which will see them integrate video, audio, etc. into WWE tweets actually cost the company a pretty penny in order to come on board. The source believes there was a high "six figure" pricetag that came with the partnership.
I know of other companies outside of the wrestling world have paid Twitter as an "advertising buy" in order to get their accounts verified and also promoted within Twitter, so I would not be shocked to see that be the case.

I was also told that with the new partnership comes the ability to tap into Twitter for help with dealing with parody and abusive accounts playing off WWE's intellectual properties. So, if there is an account you enjoy because it snarks at WWE, enjoy it now, because it could get dusted if it crosses the line.
--
This is basically how i took it from that Dreamer video. It's a paid advertising / sponsorship sort of deal, rather than Stephanie yelling at the announcers to plug twitter and "the guys in the truck" to get the twitter graphics up on the screen.

WHY EVE TORRES DISAPPEARED FROM WWE TV
By Mike Johnson on 2012-06-19 12:44:46
The word making the rounds at last night's WWE TV Taping in Long Island is that Eve Torres was pulled from TV to take part in a new NBC reality project that sees celebrities going through military-style training. So, there's the answer to the number one question we've gotten the last three weeks.

Punk joining the Heyman faction is getting some traction.

WZ has learned from sources WWE's current and tentative plan for the WWE Championship match at SummerSlam in August.

As of now, WWE is looking at having CM Punk defend the WWE Championship against John Cena at SummerSlam on August 19th.

The plan is to build the show around Punk versus Cena and Brock Lesnar versus Triple H. As for why WWE is deciding to go with CM Punk versus John Cena for the WWE Championship for the second SummerSlam in a row - a source said WWE doesn't want their top draw to be in the fourth most important match. The source is referring to having the Brock Lesnar versus Triple H match, two world title matches and then a fourth match featuring Cena.

SummerSlam is one of the biggest pay-per-views of the year in a major television market of Los Angeles, CA - WWE wants Cena to be in a title match and on the top of the billing.

I was disappointed with this offering. They could have done more with it, but it's WCW. It did bring back some memories.

Way too many new WCW matches.

Should've been more NWA offerings.

Mil Mascaras vs. nut Foley?

Ninja please.

I actually liked that part. I remember seeing that maniac fall to the cement, and think I'd never viewed something that horrific. Mascaras, keep it. Liberace in a luchador mask.

I remember reading that Foley torched that match because of Mil being afraid to take a backdrop.

If you watch it, and imagine no-sell Mil isn't in the ring, you see Cactus Jack having a five minute match with a broom.

I guess you have a better chance of hitting mega millions and being struck by lightening 3 or 4 than you do seeing Mil without his mask.

With that said, Raven says Mil looks exactly like Barney Miller.

WWE News: Updated PPV buys estimates - WM28 lowered again, Over the Limit up & down

Jun 26, 2012 - 10:32:28 PM

By James Caldwell, PWTorch assistant editor

WWE released updated monthly business figures Tuesday night revealing even-lower WrestleMania 28 PPV buys and preliminary Over the Limit buys.

-- The preliminary estimate for WrestleMania is now between 1.1 and 1.2 million buys. Last month, WWE lowered the preliminary figure to 1.21 million buys after initially reporting 1.3 million buys shortly after WrestleMania in April.

WWE will report an official WM28 buy total when Second Quarter 2012 figures are released this summer.

-- A preliminary buy total for Over the Limit featuring John Cena vs. John Laurinaitis is skewed due to the WM28 adjustments. However, graphically, WWE is listing Over the Limit above the 2011 edition, but below the 2010 edition.

It'll end up being under a million buys for WM28.
