Im going to try to make this post sound intelligent, because we all know...

From what analysts say, OKC plays high tempo feeding off higher percentage shooting, mostly because of Durant's efficiency. Once Rose comes back, I assume you have to worry about him driving to the net like he did and worry that he will not have the cut he once had. In other words, he has to become a more efficient shooter, which I assume can't be done overnight. My question is two fold. First, with Rose not being a higher efficient shooter, is it even worth still having him on the team? If it is, can you compete with Miami without having this type of system with high-efficiency scorers?

No you don't get rid of Rose. That's a Mini Ditka type post man. We don't have Durant and Harden. Westbrook plays like Rose so I don't see that as evidence he's the problem.

If Rose wasn't injured all season, the Bulls would be playing OKC right now.

But if if's and but's were candies & nuts, we'd all have an NBA Championship.

So Westbrook plays like Rose. Doesnt that go to my point? Westbrook isnt coming off a major injury and isn't the best player on that team. So the Bulls are putting a guy who should be a very good number 2 in a the number 1 role and trying to build around him. I may be completely wrong, but I would think the Bulls would want to build around a different number 1. You can probably get another cutter who wont be as good as Rose was in his prime, but will probably be no worse than Rose when he returns in two years.

I don't think you can, because the points have to come from somewhere. Teams know the scouting report. They know that if you smother Derrick and get the ball out of his hands, someone else has to be able to make a play or score. The Bulls don't have another offensive threat who can do that reliably and there hasn't been a championship team (to my knowledge) that hasn't had at least two or three solid offensive weapons. The offense stops when Rose isn't the one making plays. This is why the formula is so jacked up...because the Bulls HAVE to play stellar defense in EVERY game so they can get those transition points off misses and turnovers. Either that, or they have to be draining jumpshots. If not, we've seen how inept they are on offense. The best teams are the ones who can generate offense or get to the foul line when they're not shooting particularly well.

So in short, the Bulls won't win anything unless they have another solid go-to guy that other defenses have to worry about. Not necessarily a shooter (shooters can be streaky), but a guy who can get his own shot or get to the foul line in any situation. Currently, and during most of Rose's time with the Bulls, they haven't had that.

He plays like him, but he's a lot better. The Bulls need to get him help but it makes no sense to trade him. What could you get that's close to equal value? He's 23 or 24, not 30. Sorry but it's just a silly idea that doesn't make any sense. You rebuild to get a guy like Rose. When you get an MVP under the age of 25 you keep him.

All of this is assuming he is the same player. Chris Paul coming back from something like this is a lot different in my mind.

If you don't love all that Rose is then you are a dickwad. But yeah, I would take that level of player in 2 guard or small forward form, everyday of the week. It's going to be damn near impossible to win without another star at one of those positions, and Deng isn't that. You need a player that can dribble. Really this entire team needs to get more athletic and dribbly. Needs to be a balance between jump shots and inside scoring. So then brings you to Boozer and Noah. The latter is never going to be able to create his own shot in the post, let alone 17ft.

So yeah, then the laundry list of issues begin and you realize that the last two years might just have been it, and personaly I dont think they were beating the Heat this year, either. Let alone OKC. I think that teams length is the perfect kryptonite to the Bulls offense.

It just doesn't matter. The Bulls championship window has closed, they will not being going to any NBA Finals and if they get lucky and do, well, they won't be leaving with a ring! No matter what, it's over now!

How do I know these things? I listen to 670!

Anyways, Rose and a supporting cast isn't going to cut it and hasn't cut it. The Bulls equation is this Rose+Star+solid supporting cast = Championship. Tibs also needs to start running a ton of stuff.

Has there ever been a Center in NBA history that could create his own shot from 17 feet? There's definitintely not one in the league right now. The closest would be Bargnani, who's not even a top 5 center right now. I don't need my centers creating their own mid range shots. I need them to do all the stuff Noah excels at and hit awkward, terrible looking 14 footers. Done and done. We are good with Noah for the next 5-7 years. Let's focus on the wings, like you were originally saying goodkat.

In my opinion (uh oh) there are 2 types of centers right now, the "Big Man" who is physical, large and in charge and can play the paint/defense and then there is the European Center or European-Style Center who is really a PF and likes to take the ball to the out of the paint and hit jumpshots.

Traditional Center would be, say, Hibbert and the EC would be Bargnaini.

I'm probably wrong.....now where is that oven?

Easily the DUMBEST. QUESTION. EVER.

This is so fucking stupid it isn't even worth responding substantively.

If he disagrees with the original post, fine. But it would be nice if Shakes could try to add to the discussion instead of always resorting to throwing insults and shit.

I already stated that this assinine discussion doesn't warrant a legitimate response.

Anyone who would actually take something this stupid seriously is just as dumb as the person who posted it.

It'd probably be a good idea for you to back away from calling people "dumb" and "stupid" as much as you do on here. That's a slippery slope.

Well if he ever falls off of that slope he'll be sure to land on Kaners cock. My comment notwithstanding you have a valid point Kid.

Hey Hoffy, since me and shakes are teaching you about basketball in this thread you need to return the favor when the NHL season starts again and teach us some hockey. I promise I won't suggest releasing Toews because he had a concussion.

Ive suggested releasing Kane because he is an undersized forward in a system that no longer can support him and in a league that will eventually see him decapitated, so I think that would be the better example.

I think Rose has to go. It's obvious that he's not going to be any good when he starts playing again. It's probably best to blow the team up before it gets really bad.

Hey douchey... What do you think Rose's stats will be when he tries to play the season after next?

I personally think he'll struggle to see 20ppg, but his assists could go up...

His defense will be much worse as well, and Thibs wont like that...

But I don't think he should be traded.
