WHAT?????? Look at the Tuesday Sun Times!!!! Kenny Williams reiterated what he said earlier this season that BAD ATTENDANCE prevents him from spending for GOOD Players at the Deadline.

I guess he is just bullshitting and that BAD Attendance is a GOOD thing, or easily explained away like the apologists tried to do yesterday!!!!!

Blame Jerry for bad attendance this series. Sucks to have these during the week, but with the cheapest ticket (face value) in the house going for $56, you can't expect even close to a sellout.

For fucks sake I'm sick of this story.

Spend what your projected attendance and budget allows you to spend. It's what every reasonable person who controls a budget does.

He's right.

Then those same people will use that as an excuse not to go to games, thus ensuring the vicious cycle continuing ad infinitum.

I couldn't get to one of these games without having to burn PTO time at work...screw that. I'll watch it on tv.

Maybe if fans wouldn't use every excuse under the sun not to attend games the other 78 dates he wouldn't have to.

As a Sox Fan forever, I honestly believe what you have here and have had for about the entire Reinsdorf Era is a Fan Base that does not trust the Sox Ownership and Management, and Sox Management that does not and does not try to understand the Fan Base. This HAS gone on ad infinitum.

Bob, what do you think could be done to understand a fan base so fucking fickle?

Maybe when they work on the Red Line next year they can move the 35th Street stop to "Gate 5-Bacardi Club" so fans won't have to walk a 1/2 block.

GM's should not be talking publicly about attendance. GM's should be worrying about on-field issues. Let team Presidents, owners, and marketing/sales guys worry about attendance.

I agree with Spanky. I don't think the fan base is as large as it should be for a market this size. I also think this organization has zero connection to the "casual" fan. Some family on a Sunday where there is NO traffic should at least consider a ballgame on a nice day. They DON'T.

I don't consider a "Sox Fan" buffoon sitting on an Oak Lawn barstool spewing his hatred for the Cubs while refusing to buy a Sox ticket for even one or two games a year a Sox Fan.

Ron Schueler ripped the lack of attendance before Kenny. Hell, even Ozzie has popped off in the past about "the horseshit fans"! Ventura will be next. LMAO!

Coop dissed the fans/attendance this morning on M&H too.
If I owned a team, I would encourage all of my assistant coaches to do the same.

Does ESPN harp on this story as much as 670? I never listen so it's an honest question.

I think they talk about it when Kenny or Coop bring it up.

But not to the level of The Score.

The White Sox were supposed to be "ALL IN" a year ago, and had the highest payroll in team history a year ago. Guess what? They didn't play like a team that was "ALL IN" a season ago, and I'm under the impression that GM Ken Williams wants his cake and eat it too. It's not going to work and the longer fans stay away, the more likely these Sox will be a seller at the MLB Trade Deadline next month. What's it gonna be?

Was it something I said? The White Sox were supposed to be "ALL IN" a year ago and didn't play like it. The fan base, on the whole, doesn't think they're "ALL IN" now.

How does Kenny "want his cake and eat it too"?

It's the impression I get...There's a reason why White Sox fans continue to stay away, and there are some who believe this team isn't all that good.

I agree. But the media has promoted a narrative wherein this team is horseshit. So I find it disingenuous that they are now
wringing their hands over the attendance of a team they have repeatedly suggested is horseshit.
