Deadspin has a thing going where they feature 1 umpire per week and they basically give a run down of their history and why they suck.

I have never been more embarrassed in my life than right now. I officially renounce my White Sox fandom if the Cubs sweep.

CB Bucknor sucks too. There were a few players on both teams saying a few things to him. Its seems like every game I see that he is behind the plate, guys don't like the strike zone. He called Dunn out on a pitch that was a ball to other lefties. I saw him call a strike on a Cubs guy (forget if it was Soriano or LaHair) later in the game that was an obvious ball. He will blow calls regularly on the bases too. He is an AAA ump at best.

No clue how the hell he keeps his job. Totally brutal and inept.

Enough about the checked swing with Rios. That was one strike.

How was the call with Campana at first?

According to chicagobreakingsports.com, Orlando Hudson took the blame for last night's loss. His throwing error led to 2 unearned runs in the top 3rd which led to BOTH Cub runs scoring in the 2-1 Northsiders' win last night. The lineup won't be known for a few hours, but I've seen enough of Hudson at third base. It however creates a real problem for the White Sox, not just here, but down in Triple "A" Charlotte, too.

Former #1 pick Conor Jackson is back with Triple "A" Charlotte after missing 6 weeks with a broken left hand. He's only hitting .192, while veteran Dan Johnson is hitting .285 with 17 homers & 51 RBI's down on the farm. Johnson has ONLY played 12 games at third base down at Charlotte with 2 errors. Interestingly enough, BOTH of those guys are first basemen by trade. Also, I've heard the Kevin Youkilis rumors and I don't buy it for a second. Besides, the Red Sox veteran is earning over $10 million in salary up in Boston. Not exactly in the White Sox price range.

As for what I would do, I'm not all that confident Brent Morel will be back, no pun intended, after the All-Star Break. Neither guy is doing much better than Hudson offensively, but I'd go back to Eduardo Escobar vs. righties & Brent Lillibridge vs. lefties at the not so hot corner starting tonight vs. the Cubs' Randy Wells. As for Hudson, I'd play him at second base to give Gordon Beckham a breather and quite possibly try Hudson at shortstop for Alexei Ramirez once in a while. Just a couple ideas at this point.

For the record, this is what happens when Steven Scott Clevenger plays first base for your team.

That doesn't look that bad for the Cubs...Dale Sveum's makeshift lineup so far appears to have worked. Does he change it up tonight vs. the White Sox' really wild Gavin Floyd tonight?

He was called out. All 14 of the replays showed he was safe and it wasn't close. I mean like, not only was he back on the base but his body was starting come back up off the ground when he was tagged on his hip. That cost the Cubs not only a whole out but a baserunner.

Keep whining about one checked swing that cost you one strike, Sox fans.......

He snoozed and he lost. Tony Campana should've known better when he got picked off.

But the thing is he didn't snooze, the ump made a bad call. Alot worse than a check swing for one strike.

The umpires didn't cost the White Sox Game 2 vs. the Cubs. They had 7 walks and got only 1 run to show for it. They simply didn't execute.

You don't think the bad call on Campana cost the Sox the game in game 2 off the series?

I will say it again. Gotta get the angry old man off the telecasts. Worst advertising you can have. Actually makes me a little sorry for Stony.

Going to Cominskey tonight, got flak jacket, mace, camos and tear gas ready for defensive purposes only.

With the possibility of trading Dempster and Garza looming, Wells might become a part of the rotation yet.....I hate to think of the possibility we may be watching Wells pitch every 5th game, but it may happen. I agree, that after this season, he really should be shown the door.

WHOOO HOOOO GO SOX BP CUP CUBS SUCK!!!

This series sucks during the week. Should always be on a Fri, Sat, Sun. I'd rather only 3 games a year in alternating home parks. I still like interleague play though.

Thats sad. After dropping their 5th straight series (mostly to mediocre or bad teams) the Sox fan wants to celebrate winning the pathetic BP cup from a team in the most obvious of rebuilding modes. Enjoy that monumental achievement.

Winning the BP Cup is a much more 'substancial' event than beating up on some old ladies in a Sunday bowling league

There are 3 women out of 40 Bowlers.....don't let facts get in your way though Frank. But if you think you are ready to take me up on my bet, by all means, it still stands. I have no idea what Chus' average is, nor yours. But I'm perfectly willing to bet against you. But perhaps you are no better than the old ladies??

I think it should always be one series for Memorial Day weekend and one for 4th of July, alternating parks every year. People talk about the series losing meaning; having a weekday series in the middle of June certainly doesn't help. I have fond memories of the Walk-Off Walker Walk on 4th of July '04, listening in someone's garage on the way to fireworks at Arlington Park.

Agree CH. The City could really benefit by having fireworks on both nights after the Saturday night game too. At Wrigley, stick a barge out on the Lake and almost everybody in the park would be able to see them.

Steve, nobody is going to bowl against you so you might as well just forget about that. I am a mediocre bowler at best. You appear to be slightly better than mediocre. On a good day, I would beat you easily. On your good day, you would beat me pretty good.

You have been proven a liar more than once and by more than one person on this board. Don't talk to me about 'letting facts get in the way' of anything when most of your "facts" are either made up or exaggerated truths at best.
