Let's not be so gleeful, Frank. Our guys just avoided getting swept by the worst team in the history of baseball.

They were just as close to taking 2/3. Each team won a game handily and a dying quail coulda turned the middle game either way. Baseball's a funny game.

It wouldn't shock me if the White Sox won this thing every year for the rest of time.

They certainly aren't talking today.

Once again, it's a Sox town.

I forgot the Sox won in 2005 was it? until Rick posted it

Its almost like it never happened. Probably the most forgettable World Series.

Oh and that whole game last night was changed by a bad 1-1 call in the 2nd. Changed the whooooole complexion of the ball game.

Cubs were on their way to a 9-0 victory. Fuckin umpires

They did. I watched it. Probably one of the best sports moments ever. It's hard to explain what it's like to watch your team win one.

Not to me. I waited my whole life for one. It was such a good feeling.

That sucks. That happens to the Sox all the time.

Right, for half a city. It would have probably been better if the whole world was watching, but Im sure rockin Bridgeport and Canaryville is cool, too.

Given the extreme unlikelihood that the Cubs ever win one, it would have been a good idea to enjoy it more.

It's kind of like if you were a failed high school athlete but your son is really good. Live vicariously through him to get over your failure. The White Sox can be the competent child that does not have your shortcomings.

I'd take a few weeks of glory over selling insurance and driving a Corrola your whole life.

That's why they should go to Vegas. They can be like the Cubs and have half the stadium be out of town visitors and the other half be frat boys and sorority chicks who just want to go crazy and bang out some beers with the bros and hos!

Nah, most forgettable would probably be Angels vs. Giants in 2002. I remember a few years ago I was at a barbecue and I was the only one who could even remember the matchup. I was like, "Remember when Darren Baker almost got ran over at the plate?" My guy was like, "Ohhhhh yeah, that's right!"

Yeah, I have to admit, I cared very little about who won that series. But it ended up being a great one. Those Angel rallies were awesome.

Although if the Giants had won, Mark Prior would probably be approaching 200 wins right now

That was a great world series. Probably one of the best of that decade.

White Sox had the best postseason run since the wild card format started*. Sweep defending champs, 4 complete games in a row to win the ALCS, sweep the WS. Don't care who watched it. I watched it. It was my team. It meant something to me. BEST PLAYOFF RUN* EVER

The Yankees was a far more impressive 11-1

Nope. Not even possible to argue. Neither team swept the defending World Champs, neither team had 4 complete games in a row. Sox was THE best. DONE.

The biggest accomplishment of all was beating Theo and his magic computer.

Yankees lost on the road to 1999 Pedro (best pitcher of all time)

Sox lost at home to 2005 Paul Byrd

YANKEES WIN, YANKEES WIN

THUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHH YANKEES WIN

But it is impressive that they managed to sneak a WS win in between Theo's wins
