Next time I want to beat a man to death in Texas, I'm gonna tell the cops he was assaulting a kid.

George Zimmerman thought he was doing the right thing too.

That's kind of the problem with vigilante justice. Sometimes they are right and sometimes they are wrong.

well, those are two extremely different cases.

i'm relieved he wasn't prosecuted. there was evidence that the guy was molesting the girl. it's a sad story, though, one that i don't think requires this grandstanding sentiment of applause or "sainting". according to the 911 tape, it wasn't like the guy was saying "i'm a hero and i'm glad i sent this pervert to the 9th level of hell". the guy didn't want him to die. and as easy as it is for third party geniuses to declare "what they would do" in that situation, i think the guy's gonna struggle with it for a long time. and the daughter will still be scarred for life. it's hardly a story that calls for celebration.

Sainted? Are you serious? I have been around situations similar to this and while self defense and defense of others is completely justified, do you think he feels good about killing a man? The ones I dealt with were injuries, some serious, but not death, and the people had guilt for what they had done. Plus who knows how scarred the daughter is here. It is a terrible situation all around. While I will not shed a tear that the pervert was killed, to say a man should be sainted in all this is seriously fucked up.

So a man can not stand up for his child and shouldn't be applauded? I bet he feels good about the fact he stood up for his kid, sure he might be uneasy about the death of another human but he did what he needed to do and obviously the cops weren't around to help.

Standing up for a child = good feeling
killing another man, jutified or not = bad feeling
This may not matter to you, but I am sure it does to him. You either can not read or can not comprehend, not sure which. No one is saying he shouldn't stand up for his daughter. I just said I feel bad for the guy and his daughter they had to be in this situation. I have dealt with people in similar situations with less severe consequences and I assure you he is not looking to be sainted or applauded. But you keep your scthick up if it works for you.

Kent Brockman: Mr. Simpson, how do you respond to the charges that petty vandalism such as graffiti is down eighty percent, while heavy sack beatings are up a shocking nine hundred percent?

Homer Simpson: Aw, you can come up with statistics to prove anything, Kent. Forty percent of all people know that.

Kent Brockman: I see. Well, what do you say to the accusation that your group has been causing more crimes than it's been preventing?

Homer Simpson: Oh, Kent, I'd be lying if I said my men weren't committing crimes
