Credit where due: Lebron outclassed OKC on the biggest stage possible. He owned this series and is the reason Miami is about to win another title. Trust me, I'd like to be able to say something negative but I've watched every game. Aside from the bad officiating in Game 3, this has been all Lebron.

He deserves this championship. Doesn't make me happy to say that, but it's true.

Agreed. Been saying all this the last week or two, just wanted to see him close it. He did. He had to be the best player in the league to win the title this year and he was.

I'm still not sure it turns out this way if Rose doesn't go down but that's sports. And this was a weird season anyway.

Correct on all counts. As distasteful as it feels at the moment, the fact is would LBJ never have won a championship, it would've been criminal. Most, if not all, doubts about James as a player really should be discarded by even the most cynical fans. I still hope they all get VD during tonight's celebration, but that's another story.

James, Wade, Bosh, Miller, Battier,Chalmers...all deserve the rings they will get, but that doesn't mean anyone has to like them. It doesn't mean anyone has to stop being offended by the way the big 3 conspired to get as many All-Stars on 1 squad as the salary cap would allow, rather than working over time to win a championship as guys like Jordan Duncan, Hakeem, Magic and Kobe did. They took a shortcut and gave themselves an easier way to contend for a championship and nobody has to ignore that.Whats really offensive though, is that Eddie Curry will also get a ring .

What was the shortcut? I seem to have missed where they've gone undefeated and haven't had to work for a title. They all worked for it.

I'm not even sure what you're specifically responding to since nobody in this thread has suggested that anyone needs to like them.

without homecourt advantage they just pimpslapped the thunder. they won 4 games in a row in the NBA final. i was asleep for last night's game but once it was 3-1 the narrative is over.

nba 2012-13: LEBRON JAMES VS THE ARMY OF DARKNESS

that's pretty much what it's going to be. see, lebron has too much good in him to wholly embrace the "heel" role because he's kind of like "why the fuck? why wouldn't these people like me" and to that i say that anyone who truly hates lebron is an idiot because if you truly like basketball and "hate" watching lebron doing his thing, simply put, you hate basketball. he's been appointment television ever since he showed up as a rookie. b4 that his high school games were broadcast on ESPN2 or some shit.

lebron lives a life that most people can't comprehend, so it's easy for people to hate on him en masse, but given all the shit he's had to deal with (including but not limited to hummers from his crazy-ass mother) i think he's done OK and he's what, 28? not bad. some of the best things in life are 27-28 years old i'll have you know =)

It depends on how you define "Wade's team". He's still got two rings in Miami.

Lebron is clearly the best player but just like Shaq, it was his team until the day he left the Lakers, even when Kobe had surpassed him in ability.

As I thought it would, this is a sad day for me. It's not because Lebron won. It's because I got 0 enjoyment out of it.

Lebron was my favorite player post-Jordan and yet he wins a title and I'm indifferent. That sucks.

Why?

I don't see how it's Wade's team at anymore. He tried his best to send them home for the summer in the Boston series. Overall he's played like a borderline All Star in the postseason. LeBron decides what will happen at the end of games, he's by far their best player, he does the biggest interviews for them. If they ever trade one, it will be Wade. Wade has one more ring and that's it. If Wade gets traded is it Haslem's team next?

The fact that Shaq was traded, and not Kobe, sorta contradicts your theory I would think.

You spend a lot of time putting down how good Wade and Bosh are now. Why?

Anyways, if you want to think that Lebron runs the show in Miami go ahead. I still think Wade is the leader, even if he's not the best player.

Do you really need me to explain to you why Kobe was not traded but Shaq was? Here is a hint, which player is an analyst and which is still playing?

I dont really have much to say about Bosh except when someone mistakenly tries to call him a superstar.

Of course I put down Wade alot now. His play deserves it. Before it didn't. It's that simple really. It's obvious to everyone who runs the show in Miami now.

Its LeBrons team by any measure. Shaq was never this much of a Robin like Wade is now and Shaq never openly called it Kobe's team

Agreed.

And what really sucks is it was a dominating performance throughout the playoffs with several plot twists and possible outs. He completely led his team to a title....and its not enough because of how he got here

Maybe the lesson is, never call yourself the King (superhype).....because you're only setting unrealistic expectations

Well, Shaq and Kobe hated each other. Wade and Lebron don't.

Shaq knew it was Kobe's team at the end. That's why he wanted to be traded and go win a title before Kobe did.

Listen, I get why people say it's Lebrons team. I just think that Wade built this, is the reason it exists, and has brought two titles to Miami. Ultimately, this "dynasty" is going to be viewed as something that Wade orchestrated.

What will be interesting to see is if Wade gets traded. That is the logical move here.

As I said, it depends how you define it. Lebron is the best player so the on the court stuff is likely to run through him.

To use another example, I don't know if OKC is "Durant's team" either. He's the best player, but it seems like Westbrook, for better or worse, is running things.

That's a separate issue altogether. Wade is not running anything in Miami that we can see.

Yeah I have the Heat as LeBron's team and the Thunder as Durant's

"Lead us on defense"

That is really great. I know Spo was trying to throw Wade the proverbial bone, but his jogging-style defense became a running joke throughout the last two and a half rounds. That's awesome.

Yeah, a lot of people are doing that and I don't think it's fair.

If Lebron had stunk it up in the Finals and hid from the pressure like he had before, I would've been right there with everyone else criticizing him. But he didn't. He stepped up and was "that guy". I think that's all anybody expected of him.

Why is it not fair? He talked the talk for so long before he even came close to walking the walk. He finally did this year.

If he was able to keep his mouth shut most of the time, he would be even a hundreds times more popular than he is now.
