Bullshit... I believe it has been argued on this very board that pot usage has never caused a violent crime.

Do you really think pot caused him to eat another guy's face?

He could've been high on weed at the time, it still doesn't make it the drug's fault. There's no known correlation, or especially causation, between weed and violence.

There definitely is a correlation. Causation is harder to prove because it's hard to tell if violent people just love marijuana.

Also, that ignores the whole drug trade, people who drive under the influence(I know, no one has ever had an accident because of the effects of this mind altering drug), and the effects of combing alcohol and weed and the way that effects someone.

Did you even read that article? It pretty much backs up what I said.

The article pretty clearly states there is a correlation. It does agree with you that causation is harder to prove but you are factually incorrect that there is no correlation.

No - it doesn't reference any specific correlation. It says weed can make you frightened, anxious, and paranoid(without ever mentioning sources), and those feelings could develop into anger. For a scientific article it's pretty sloppy and seems to lack a clear thesis. It specifically states in the opening paragraph that marijuana users are less likely to become violent. Just stop now Rick. "Weed makes you angry" is the dumbest anti-weed angle I've heard to date. It specifically has the opposite effect.

Also, unless you would consider a High Times article credible and unbiased I wouldn't suggest you cite an article prepared by the National Cannibis Prevention and Information Centre that includes the byline "some information may not be accurate for US Readers"

That is a known correlation. That is inarguable. The causation may be that violent people like marijuana more than those who aren't violent.

I also don't know where I argued "weed makes you angry".

Did they test the guy for how many sodas he may have drank that day? Caffeine can cause anger.

Source?

Don't say the article. That's not a source and they don't list their sources either unlike most scientific articles.

How about this correlation then?

I read a week ago that he had prescription drugs in his system..what happened to them? Rick ..I think it is more like ..so many people smoke pot that of course some will be violent, we live in a violent society...Alcohol makes some people violent..that is a fact..weed? no..never have been proven and never will because it just is not true.

Just admit there is a correlation but not necessarily a causation and we can move on. There are multiple studies showing that people who use marijuana are more likely to be violent. What is undetermined is whether the marijuana is causing it or if something that causes them to be violent causes them to use marijuana.

I always have an issue with autopsy results after a strange death of someone. Many times they are reported as "No Illegal Substances" were found in his/her system. But what legal substances were found? Why is that never reported? Sometimes those substances can be just as dangerous if you have the right combinations put into you.

Same thing that happened to the 'bath salts', the toxicology report came back. Drugs is drugs. Image

Quote:
The Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner said in a news release that the toxicology detected marijuana, but it didn't find any other street drugs, alcohol or prescription drugs. Eugene also tested negative for adulterants commonly mixed with street drugs.

You mean the report that said she died from too much alcohol, which is a legal drug?

They report the relevant drugs. If someone had alcohol they report it. If they had Oxycontin they report it. They don't report caffeine, claritin, and penicillin because it's normally not relevant.
