3:15 games will now be 3:25. That makes a world of difference. You'll know what your bank is cuz all of the noon games will be over. The 3:25 kickoffs are the prime time games that most of the country will get on FOX or CBS. NFL will still have some 3:05 regional dog games.

Yeah. 60 minutes will get no viewers now. A lot of these 3:25s will take you right up to NBCs game.

NBC has to be a little pissed. Nobody will watch their pregame.

As the "NFL on CBS" guys will always say, "60 Minutes will be seen in its entirety, except on the West Coast where it'll be seen at its regular time."

Not really. The late games were ending around 6:15, and now they will be ending around 630-645...kickoff for the Sunday night games aren't until 7:20.

Spmack is correct. If it means anything, guys, when FOX Sports has the doubleheader, the cleverly-named "OT: Presented by Lowe's" with the "FOX NFL Sunday" guys in Los Angeles, will more than likely be trimmed from a half-hour to maybe 15, 20 minutes if their games end around 6:30p (CT)...

What else you gonna do when the last game is over on Redzone. It was usually about 6:30 or 6:40. Now it's gonna be pushing 7pm.

Plus with the new overtime rules being in effect for regular season games, a lot of times the entire 15 minute OT will be needed.

I wish they would have moved the first games up an hour. Watching football sucks on the east coast. It starts at 1pm and goes until midnight.

They'll never do that. Because the NFL has ESPN and the NFL network to accomodate with pregame time. Christ, they want the entire day to be NFL programming.

If they moved it up, it would be 9am starts in the west coast and you lose a lot of those markets for pre game coverage.

Rick Eisen is a douche and Michael Irvin always seems coked up. I like NBCs people better. Though, Tony Dungey is tough to look at. He looks sickly.

I know, though college football gets away with it.

The only chance would be if they could make more money by staggering the national games like March Madness. Start a game at 11, one at 1, one at 3, one at 5, and then have the NBC night game at 8.

True. But college football hundreds of teams. So you have to create 4 slots in the day for that.

They could do 4 slots for NFL Sunday like you suggest, but that might just be overkill.

Wait a second, guys...I'm old enough to remember when there was at least 1 game that kicked off at 1p (CT) before the NFL uniformed, for lack of a better word, their start times many years ago. I think the old Baltimore Colts were one of those teams that kicked off at what would normally be 2p (ET).

The NFL finally gave in to America's cries and are giving us Thursday Football every week. Don't know why it took them so long. That's tens of millions of extra revenue. Especially since it's on the NFL network.

Beardown, while "Thursday Night Football" is ideal for NFL Network, I don't think every cable system in America has the 24/7 channel to this day.

4 slots of games on Sunday would be overkill. It's nice to have that hour break before the Sunday night game before you go at the hooker one last time. Did I say hooker? I meant significant other of whom you don't pay for sex. Yeah. That's what I meant.

It helps bookies more than gamblers. The good betters generally have their plays in for the day before the first kickoffs.

That's true. And I usually have the 3pms in before noon. But you sometimes throw a little bit more at it if you're up. At least I do. I don't chase if I'm down, however. Not anymore. Learned that lesson. Monday night isn't chasing. That's the new week.

If you think weather might be a factor, then you wait on those 3pm starts. Not to mention injured players and their status.

By the way, Coast posted that handicappers website last year. Where they steal from reputable publications and pay services. It helped. So for those of you that didn't use it last year, you should. I'll post it again in the gambling section again come August.
