Not sure if this was posted or not...

http://espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/story/_/ ... -15-day-dl
Quote:
CHICAGO -- Chicago White Sox relief pitcher Jesse Crain was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, retroactive to June 24, with a right posterior shoulder strain.

The White Sox recalled right-handed pitcher Deunte Heath from Triple-A Charlotte. The 26-year-old Heath was 4-2 with a 1.70 ERA in 22 appearances, including three starts, in the minors. He has no major league experience.

Deunte Heath was mentioned as a starting pitcher Sunday in place of All-Star Chris Sale vs. the Blue Jays, Frank, reading the game notes in the paper. RV told reporters this morning that Dylan Axelrod, not Heath, might be pressed into service on just 3 days rest Sunday afternoon.

Also, the Blue Jays are reportedly planning to start 3 left-handers in their weekend series at The Cell. Aaron Laffey, Ricky Romero & Brett Cecil are penciled in to start for Toronto starting tomorrow night.

As for the gametime temperature RIGHT NOW...99 degrees. WOW!

Right now, both Harrison & Quintana appear to be dealing in the first 2 1/2 innings...Scoreless at the Cell.

Rangers 1, White Sox 0 on an RBI single by Adrian Beltre to score Ian Kinsler in the Top 4th. Jose Quintana took one off the body, but he stays in the game on a rocket shot.

As for Gordon Beckham leading off, I know he's 0-for-2 in a rare leadoff spot, but it might be only the beginning on days when Alejandro De Aza isn't in the lineup such as the case today and Brent Lillibridge now in Boston as a result of the Kevin Youkilis trade. The way this roster is structured, RV might not have a choice but to lead Beckham off when De Aza isn't in there.

Because its 105 and because righties hit Harrison at a .294 clip, while lefties hit .173 against him.

Frank is correct. That might also explain why A.J. Pierzynski & Adam Dunn aren't in this lineup either.

White Sox loaded the bases twice in the bottom 4th. They've got an RBI groundout from Alexei Ramirez, but that's all they've got to show for it. Tyler Flowers just struck out to end the bottom 4th in a 1-1 tie with the Rangers.

The Rangers should feel right at home in this weather. The White Sox will be down there at the end of July.

So you are saying that the Texas Rangers are from the depths of hell?

That's why Quintana is pitching so well. He's used to it.

:P

Can't remember if it was Dusty of Lou that said that.

Kevin Youkilis has just left the building! Youk's homer gives the White Sox a 2-1 lead in the bottom 6th over the Rangers.

The bad: Jordan Danks got caught stealing. The good: Gordon Beckham just doubled & Eduardo Escobar with an infield single. The bad: Kevin Youkilis just flied out...2-1 White Sox after 7 over Texas.

TP, don't get too excited. These are pop-up storms, according to NBC5's Cheryl Scott. They're playing through this now.

You got that right. In a ballgame that took just over 2 hours to play, a White Sox 2-1 winner over the Rangers! YOUK!!! I bet the Red Sox wish they still had him now...

Quintana has really been amazing - in some ways, more impressive than even Sale.

Not bad for a guy who was originally the 26th man when the White Sox & Indians played a day-night DH in Cleveland, the result of a new rule for twinbills this season in Bud Selig's Major League Baseball.

Shark, what are your sources telling you about Quintana's pitching abilities? Is he a flash in the pan or the real deal?

Hard to say, Denis. I thought his start in the Bronx was one to forget, but he somehow survived to get the win over the Yankees on a similar hot & humid night last Friday.
