Don't consume sports radio the same way I did 5 to 10 years ago... but still listen semi regularly.
B&B - Listen on most days driving home from work. Bernstein is a trolling, obsessive compulsive dick. When you agree with him, he's great, and when you disagree with him, you want to punch him in the face. Most of the time, I'm interested in their discussion, and the show usually is good for several laughs. It's a weird show, and it conquers weird just right. I like it.
And yet, if you agree with him, but your rationale for the agreement to reach the same conclusion differs from his, he STILL goes all nuclear superior dickhead on you.
This WAS my favorite show. It used to be appointment radio. It still CAN be all things informative, educational, and sophmorically hysterical, but Bernstein has become so insufferable that most days I PTFB and listen to satellite.

Mac and Speigs - don't usually listen too much these days. I could listen while at work, but I haven't made the effort to stream anything during my work day. Always liked Mac. The little I've heard, during lunch breaks, it seems Mac is more energized. The pairing doesn't bother me.
I'm probably in the minority, but I never really cared for Mac. Speigs is still HORRIBLE on the show, what with the phony "smarmy cleverness" he always tries to inject. I like Speigs MUCH better on hit and run where he is much less schticky.

Mully & Hanley - OK sports discussion here and there. Some of their attempts at jokes or one-liners make me cringe, especially when they have a guest on who doesn't get their schtick. Show is obviously better during football season.
I have never understood some of the out-and-out hate toward this show. For the most part, it's harmless enough, even with the cringeworthy humor. Having said that, I pretty much have Johnny B. on until I leave for work, then tune in the West coast Howard feed...

Mike & Mike - agreed on the vanilla references. Boring as show when discussing MLB, NBA, etc. One of the best shows to break down the NFL each Monday morning.
Ditto.

LoHo - depends on who he is trying to emulate. The Bernstein wannabe act is awful... the "tonight I'm going to try and be a black guy" routine is lame. LoHo is a nerdy black white dude.... nothing wrong with that. That is when he is at his best.
What I don't care for is that he values his own importance a little too highly. When he drops the attitude of "I'm just as important as any one of the 'premier' hosts on this station", he's much easier to listen to.

Jason Goff - great stuff, when bantering with B&B, or doing his own show. Probably better with a partner though.
I like Jason. Don't care for his annoying bumper mixes, though...

W&S - never really got into this show, but I haven't given them a honest listen in about 3 years now. My ESPN Radio stream doesn't work at the office, so that is partially why. Used to love the old Silvy & Carmen show though. I wish Silvy well.
Like it better than M+S, but Silvy's voice is almost as grating as HT's. Again, don't understand all the Waddle hate; he comes across as a goof, which works IMO, and his sports thought are not that ridiculous for the most part.

CJH - occasionally listen on the way home from work, but I usually don't think to turn them on. Seems just OK. Usually turn on AM 1000 if B&B, Roe Conn or Garry Meier are all at commercial or news.
Hardly ever listen, as HT is unlistenable and Carmen is too vanilla.

Hit & Run - awesome show. Love it. Can't get any better on Sunday mornings.
Agreed; still kinda miss George on the show
Quote:
Rosenbloom and Grote - love this show... at least on Saturday mornings. I always think this would be a perfect morning show during the week.
Grote's OK; Rosenbloom can be either really good or really miserable depending on the day.
I loved the old Baum and Rosenbloom Saturday show - now THAT was appointment radio.

Talkin' Baseball - I always seem to turn this show on during one of their lame game segments. Haven't heard Bruce and Fred in a while, but I do like Hit and Run far better.
Good for Fred, but I can't listen to Bruce Levine.

J Hood - a decent listen. I've heard him recently with Nick Friedell. The old J Hood Shows back on the Score was when he was at his best. He is tamer now, as far as his mood goes (doesn't pick on callers the way he did while at The Score), but he doesn't seem to be as fun. I'd need to listen to him more consistently to have a fairer observation.
That's 'cause he's been "ESPN'ed"

Les - not usually up when he is on. When I do listen to him, he is great.
Les' knowledge is amazing, and the fact that he can still do a show with all the nutcases calling in is pretty admirable.
The fact that most humor goes right over his head makes me think he is SHARK on this here board...
