Don't you love Pappy saying he's out of his slump after these recent events. How? Yeah it was a moment but he had nothing to do with it.

Watch. The next book he'll drop lower. Wait til the ratings come out before you declare your career slump is over Pappy.

I thought this thread was going to be about hitting level 70 and raiding Hellfire Citadel.

Gee, ya think? A freakin Chicago show is beyond his abilities, so I'm guessing a "non-Chicago" show will be as well...

Well Said!

Hey Rock do you and Jen Jen get to go to NY to produce this? Probably not. They'll have a guy there for Pappy.

Somebody tape this crap and put the funniest worst moments on Youtube and link it here.

For the record...Neither Fred nor Annie are going to NY. Also, I'm pretty sure Mike said he wouldn't be on TV.

Yeah. But its not going to take. He won't be the replacement. They don't know what an idiot he is. He's just a resource that they know of. The high ups don't even know a thing about him. They should know about his failed ratings though.

Hey since he's going to New York will Pappy put BeBe on for an "adopt a rat" segment. Or since they have alot of Jewish people in NY will Pappy and Fritzy do "hug a j.e.w"

That's dumb. It's under the CBS umbrella. People would rather hear Pappy make a fool of himself trying out in NY over hearing Larry or Drinky.

This is the one time all of the Pappy haters would listen to him and they don't air him here.

They just have to have their local commercials cued up when they go to break in NY. It shouldn't be that tough.

Mike North slump is over. Even though he has not won a book in months and his show continues to lack any originality at all, as long as his name is out there no matter what, good or bad, it is all good in the small and shallow mind of Mike North.

Mike also mentions how this is good for HIM, HIS chance, how HE always wanted to do this, I guess this confirms what everyone was saying, it has always been about him. Yes, he likes to say how he has to be careful when something happens, because he has to worry about Rock, Jen and others, but yet, when New York comes calling, stay home kids, Daddy is leaving and don’t follow me. I laugh when Mike spews out his concern for his staff, when he was with Jigs and had the station dumped him on McNeil and split up the heavy fuel crew, were was the concern for his teammates? Mike could not wait to lose Doug and his current show is so bad, which he refuses to, make changes because he does not want to admit failure, why, because Mike has become too big for his own shoes. It is not about the show any longer; it is about him and his next step, his next Million-dollar contract and his name in the paper, which is what it is all about with him.

North said this is what he has always wanted, an Imus type show, another poster pointed out that he said previously that he never wanted that type of show, which is it Mike? What lie are we suppose to buy today?

Its funny, Mike and I spoke in early April, the first time since he wanted to sue me and put me in the poor house and his main concern was that he was just hoping that we posters were not making comments about him just to get his attention, his words. Mike worried about people seeking attention by saying things? That is what he has turned into, a complete self-centered, out of control egomaniac who cannot handle the fact that his days of rubbing elbows with the celebrities are ending. He is not worried about the show, he is not worried so much about the money and he is terrified that people will forget about him.

I tried to see it his way, but it is just too dysfunctional for me.

The New York Experience:

As you all know by now....the show is headed to the NYC to sit in a couple of days in the big chair at WFAN on morning drive. As far as I know this concept has been in the works for some time now since the departure of Don Imus and the time originally planned to go was in July, but since we've had a couple of good publicized weeks here, I guess they decided to bump it up.

As far as who is going, it will be Mike, Jen, myself, Be-Be, Jeff Schwartz, Mitch, and I believe Mike is taking his mom. This is nothing but a business trip. When we go to NY and get an opportunity like this in the #1 market in the country.....it's all business. Now, as far as a simulcast, I'm not sure...I think that Fred and Anne will be doing shows with a special guest host for the 2 days. A name you all are familiar with from what I hear.

I would have never thought I'd get an opportunity to work in the NYC and personally my goals in my radio career do not include it....but this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet some people and put on the best radio we can put out for two days.

Take it for what it is....CBS and WFAN want Mike to fill in their morning slot for 2 days, Mike has chosen to take Jen and myself.....he did try for the entire crew, but it just wasn't an option with CBS. As far as all you conspiracy theorists with the Jesse Jackson angles and whatever......hell, I don't know, I can only believe what I've been told and seen. All I know is this is a big opportunity, and no one in their right mind would turn it down. Hope you guys get a chance to stream the feed at wfan.com and wish us luck whether you love us or hate us.

-Rock

Rock, here's hoping this opens some doors so you can escape that steaming pile you're with right now. Really, I wish you the best of luck. I do not, however, extend those wishes to North and Jen.

Too bad you guys don't have the same attitude when you're broadcasting in Chicago. But we're only the #3 market in the country, so I can see how you'd just want to blow that off.

You suck Rock and so does your boss.

Midget. I swear. I was thinking the same thing as I read Rock. I mean yeah. Chicago. 3rd market. Pappy's home town. Large blow torch 670 frequency. Seems like that's pretty big time to me.

You wish Pappy gave the effort for that great break. Now he's gonna try cuz it's New York. Instead of this 3rd largest nothing town. LOL.

I guess good luck Rock. But we've heard Pappy for 15 years. He's sucked here. Mostly recently. I don't know how he can be good all of a sudden.

What makes CBS think NYers will "love" his CHICAGO firey attitude?

If I went into a local bar in NYC and started yelling in my chicago accent, they would kick my ass.

No wonder radio is dead. Big business needs to stick with Walmart and Microsoft. Leave local radio stations alone. You don't have a clue how to manage them.

Mike North in NYC. LMFAO. What's next? Annie on the View? Fred working for MGM? Rock at the tonight show? Jen Jen at Penthouse?

its a pretty stupid decision not to simulcast the broadcast on 670. its being talked up enough (in the papers, on north's show at least) you might as well put it on your own airwaves.

Good luck to all of you. Enjoy your time as it is a no lose situation.

I am a little concerned with everyone involved genuflecting to New York. While it is a bigger market it is not like this is a jump from the minor leagues to the majors.

This WFAN thing with revolving test hosts is turning into the Cubs seventh innning stretch. Keep trotting out everyone under the sun and you can stall any plans for an Imus replacement.
My prediction: it will only take 20 minutes for someone to phone in and call Mikey Two Times "Hot Dog Boy." Then all FAN listeners will switch to Mike & Mike.

Good luck to Rock. I hope he can network himself and try to make some valuable contacts in NY and at CBS.

Jen is a whore. She'll try and bang any CBS exec. she can. Wait until they meet the "executive producer" of the Mike North Morning Show. What a joke!

I'm sure North will be average. Because, he is a very average host.

This is Mike working his contacts with Dan Mason and his best new buddy, Chris Russo ( the mad dog). Several years ago Mike attacked Russao as a buffon when he wrote his book - and now he has him on and they are best buds.

Mike will not play in New York or across the country - hopefully, New Yorkers and the rest of the country will recognize North for what we could not - he is the loud mouth at the end of the bar who, after the first few minutes, is no longer interesting. He is just annoying and you either tune out or turn away.

I have never been a Mike North fan - I never found him funny, entertaining or even that smart when it came to the world of sports.

Actually, if you don't like him, pray he does well and gets a full time gig out of Chicago.
