SHARK, by all accounts and the eye test, Escobar can play SS, while Orlando has been a 2B throughout his career. 3B was a stretch for him, what makes you think he can play short?

Apologist, it's just a guess on my part. There's another question that White Sox fans must ask in the wake of this trade, too.

In the event that Alejandro De Aza is NOT in the White Sox lineup, who leads off for this team? It may not happen that often, but it could come to fruition as soon as Friday night in the Bronx. According to the Trib's Mark Gonzales, the White Sox will be dealing with C.C. Sabathia in the second game of this series Friday vs. Jose Quintana.

I don't know if RV would want to start De Aza in the leadoff spot vs. arguably one of MLB's toughest left-handers and a possible AL starter in the All-Star Game next month in Kansas City, but that's something he has to think about. It might not be a popular move, but the day is coming when 2B Gordon Beckham, despite the less than great BA & on-base percentage, might have to lead off for this team when De Aza isn't in this lineup. A gut feeling? It's coming.

Shark, Escobar does not become the new Lillibridge. Jordan Danks is the 4th OF, Escobar is the utility IF. There should be almost no defensive innings available for Hudson. If I were Ventura, I would see if can adjust his game to the PH role. If he cannot, get the best one available on the trade market as I don't want Danks/Escobar/Flowers PH at significant moments in a drive for the division.

I would be perfectly happy with that, Douchebag. In 76 games with the Sox in 2001, Canseco hit 16 HRs with 49 RBI; .258 avg, .366 OBP, and an .843 OPS. I don't think you would hear any complaints of Youkilis does that for the White Sox. That would be ions better than the .160avg and 1 HR that the Sox had at 3rd base before Youk was here. So, your attempted joke of a picture there really blew up in your face.

Hell if Anthony Rizzo puts up power numbers like that in 2012, Cubs fans will be splooging all over the place

Actually, Sox fans are more like that than Cub fans.

GD, Escobar has played the outfield just one time in his brief ML career, and he was pressed into action a few weeks ago in LF when Dayan Viciedo was injured and had to leave the game. Something tells me these White Sox might have another move or two in them, but you might have a valid point regarding flexibility or maybe lack thereof as this roster is currently setup.

Is Conseco the one who broke the steroids story in his book?

No, that's the place where the Pacers play.

Factually speaking, it's now called Bankers Life Fieldhouse that the Indiana Pacers call home, guys. I think you meant Jose Canseco.

Quote:
A rejuvenated Kevin Youkilis won his second career American League Player of the Week Award on Monday after helping lead the White Sox to five victories in just his second week with the club.

Youkilis hit a scorching .478 (11-for-23) with three homers and 10 RBIs last week and also accounted for the game-winning RBIs in four straight games from July 4-7.

This was probably their deadline move. The fact that Boston was almost willing to dump him before the market developed makes this a good move that is already paying dividends. I could even see them pick up his option if he keeps this up.

KW's mo has always been to make his moves well before the trade deadline followed by some tinkering with the 24-25th man stuff at the very end.

Here is a completely useless GIF of Youk getting a faceful of Darren Oliver's ass.
