Bulls & Suns said to be interested in...Michael Redd? That's the word from ESPNChicago.com's Nick Friedell.

I hope they have also acquired a time machine, or two brand new knees.

T'Wolves are going to amnesty Darko. Why don't the Bulls just bid the minimum, and if they win, they can let Omer walk. They're mostly the same type of player. Good defender/rebounder, terrible offensively.

I'll talk Darko at league minimum over Omer at $8 mil/season.

Me too but they arent the same player. One huge difference is Asik seems to realize he sucks on offense and plays accordingly. Darko does not.

What the hell is Indiana doing?

Quote:
Sources: Mavs get Darren Collison

The Dallas Mavericks continued their recovery from disappointment in the Deron Williams sweepstakes, reaching terms on a trade with the Indiana Pacers to acquire point guard Darren Collison, according to sources with knowledge of the deal.

Sources told ESPN.com the Mavericks have agreed to acquire Collison and swingman Dahntay Jones in a sign-and-trade deal that will send free-agent center Ian Mahinmi to the Pacers to serve as a backup for Roy Hibbert.

Collison is the second significant addition made Wednesday by the Mavericks, who also signed center Chris Kaman. Both Collison and Kaman will be playing on expiring contracts next season.

Collison has one year left on his contract at $2.3 million. ESPN.com reported earlier Wednesday the Mavs and Kaman agreed to terms on a one-year deal worth $8 million.

Jones, a defensive specialist who's been involved in feisty scraps with the Mavericks while playing with Denver and Indiana in recent seasons, also is entering the final year of his contract at $2.9 million.

The arrivals of Collison and Kaman potentially fill two spots in the starting lineup without impacting the significant salary-cap space Dallas is projected to have in the summer of 2013, when the Mavericks will try again to land a free agent of Williams' caliber.

DraftExpress.com reported Mahinmi will receive a four-year deal worth $16 million in joining the Pacers.

Anytime you can trade your starting PG for a backup center you HAVE to make that deal

And then sign that backup center to a 4 year deal.

Isn't George Hill the starter?

I get why Collison was expendable. I dont get why they accepted that deal.

Yeah Hill has been the starter, but maybe it is just the games I have seen, but Collison always seemed like the better player.

George Hill likes to take dumb shots inexplicably. Collison seemed to have a better grasp of the holes in his game and look to create more. I think you could have gotten more for him but I guess most teams have their PG's locked up by this point so they were probably just desperate to move him before letting him walk for nothing. Although Mahimahi is close to nothing.

He definitely seemed to have a higher ceiling. Its obvious he fell out of favor by the end of the season. Vogel seems like a decent coach. Not sure what the issue was. In reality if either guy is your starter you're probably trying to upgrade that spot if possible though.

Darko Milicic...WOW! Hard to believe he was the #2 overall pick many years ago by the Pistons...

i don't really agree at all.....Darko does get blocks but he still seems kind of soft to me...i think Asik plays a lot tougher
and i think Darko is passable offensively.
i do agree that i would definitely rather have him at the minimum than Omer at 8

Because Collison was injured. We both watched the games and Collison was clearly the better "PG".

Collison was hurt during the end of the year.

He doesnt have a jumper, and gets abused by bigger guards...

George Hill is the better player.

2 Years/$6 Million Total.

That's actually a good deal. He's turned into a good defender.

Kept the water cooler scoreless last year.

I believe this is his 7th NBA team...Hard to believe, Kwame was once the #1 overall pick by the Wizards when you know who was calling the shots. You may have heard of him, Michael Jordan...

Did Kwame ever have a pulse? He barely played last year and did absolutely nothing when he did.

He was hurt.

He has turned into a solid defender when he get on the court. $3 mil/per season is not a bad deal for a good defender.
