Steve Aschburner on B&B mentioned that he doesn't think the Bulls want to be a championship contender because the management is unwilling to pay the luxury tax. Do you think that's a fair assessment?

They most definitely dont want to pay the tax. They will ne content with what they have and still think they can win a championship. They will flat out say that the pieces are in place

You have that ass backwards as usual. The Bulls don't want to pay the luxury tax if they aren't a title contender. If Jerry thinks he can win a championship he will spend the money. That's been proven over the past two decades.

What about when he wouldn't acquire Gasol because of the tax? I mean look, it's impossible to guarantee a title, but when Gasol was available that would have made a HUGE difference.

You mean in 2008? The team would've still been 2+ years away from being a title contender at that point.

I love how half the Bulls fans are pissed because they perceive this team won't spend any money, and the other half are pissed because they perceive that the bulls overpay too many players.

As far as I know, the luxury tax is around a decade old in the NBa...

And of course Reinsdorf doesn't want to pay $45million or w/e it is if his team wont generate any post season revenue.
