He has turned into a solid defender when he get on the court. $3 mil/per season is not a bad deal for a good defender.

Are you sure you are talking about Kwame Brown? He is not a good defender. He is not good at anything.

Disagree. Kwame sucks at life and always will.

I would rather have Kwame Brown at 3 Mil for 2 years then Ian MahiMahi for 4 years 15Mil

You could do a lot worse for a backup center. He's obviously a huge bust cuz he was a former #1 pick, but he's carved out a nice niche for himself finally in his career.

What are you talking about? His niche is getting signed for too much money and not producing shit.

I know what youre saying but i think youre being a little generous. You could also do a lot better for a backup center. Id say his niche is being good enough to make a roster every season. He's definitely one of the best 360 players in the NBA. But he's not in the top 200.

He had a nice year in Charlotte in 2010-2011, and would have produced similar numbers in Golden State last year if he would have not gotten hurt. I'm not saying he's a superstar, but he's gone from a guy who had no business being in the league to a serviceable big man off the bench. That's all i'm saying. You're thinking of terrible Kwame Brown who was too lazy to do anything in the league for about 5 or 6 seasons, and just languished away at the end of people's benches. I think the guy finally gets it now, and I think he deserves a spot in the league.

Didn't he win a ring with the Lakers?

He is not worth more than the league minimum. His stats at Charlotte were pathetic for someone who played almost 30 mpg.

http://articles.latimes.com/2009/nov/18/sports/la-spw-lakers-web18-2009nov18

Did the Lakers send a championship ring to Kwame Brown?

"What?" Brown responded when asked the question Tuesday night.

Did you get a ring from the Lakers?

"Man, you know the answer to that," Brown said, smiling.
"Why should I get one? I wasn't here."

True, but Brown played a role in the Lakers winning the NBA championship last season.

After all, Brown was the trade bait the Lakers used to acquire Pau Gasol, who played a big role in the Lakers' championship.

The Lakers sent Brown, Javaris Crittenton, Aaron McKie and the draft rights to Marc Gasol to the Memphis Grizzlies for Pau Gasol in February 2008.

So, Brown was told, the Lakers got Gasol because of him.

"That's wasn't because of me," Brown said, laughing. "I didn't have nothing to do with that."

Brown now is playing center for the Detroit Pistons. He's back to being a backup behind 35-year-old Ben Wallace, back to fumbling the basketball, back to being booed by Lakers fans.

Brown played 2 1/2 seasons with the Lakers, but he never found his game.

I think you're right. Kobe's legacy just grew. Even Jordan couldn't win on a team with Kwame Brown.

He's clearly worth more than the league minimum. He's not old Juwan Howard, Jamaal Magloire, Eddy Curry, Diop, or any other terrible big man currently in the league. Averaging 8 & 7 in 26 mpg isn't exactly terrible. You wouldn't want him starting for your team, but he's fine coming off the bench.

I can't believe I'm actually defending Kwame Brown. :x

Anyone want to talk about how great of a signing Hasheem Thabeet was for OKC? :)

Wasn't he drafted #2? Everyone knew he would suck out of college. You should never be allowed to work in the NBA after making a pick like that. Even Jordan wouldn't draft him. A #2 pick should never end up in the Developmental League.

No, Kwame Brown was a former #1 overall pick by the Wizards, I believe the same year the Bulls initially drafted Tyson Chandler at #4 overall.

Okay, the Bulls traded for Tyson Chandler via the Clippers at #2 and then the Bulls drafted Eddy Curry at #4. 2002, I think...

Knicks GM avoiding being delivered Lin's offer sheet from the Rockets. Trying to sign and trade for Raymond Felton instead.

So, he's like a defendant trying to avoid receiving a summons?

Makes sense. It would probably take them out of the Howard sweepstakes if they plan on honoring their offer to Asik. If not then the Bulls are likely going to get Asik at a bargain price.

Yup. Apparently, the signed offer sheet needs to be physically delivered to him for the three day grace period to match starts. By not receiving it, he is giving himself more time to decide to match.

Great move by the Knicks. Felton is more of a sure thing than Lin. If they end up keeping both I won't be sure what to think of this. I know Lin will make them a shit load of money but he isn't worth paying $35M for in 3 years ($2.50 for every $1 you're over the luxury tax).
