How often do you call radio stations and what are some of your experiences with getting on the air?

I think everyone knows that I call into one show or another at least once a week and usually 2-3 times between Mac's show, CJH and S&W. I got to talk with many people over the years. Probably my favorite was Walter Payton. I used to call into his show, when he did a weekly show on WSCR. Walter was fun. Ditka and Piersall were fun to talk with too. Making a joke once on a call to Mac, Jurko and Harry that made Mac spit his coffee out from laughing was one thing I remember fondly. Another was a call I made where I referred to a commercial spot Jurko had done years ago for Bubba Burgers and had all 3 guys on CJH rolling. Good times....

Mac: Elmhurst Steve, your dime, your dance floor.

Steve in Elmhurst: Hey guys. I just wanted to say that if the Cubs get better hitting, pitching, and defense, they will probably win more games. Also, they should try to trade some of the veterans for prospects. They could probably get a king's ransom for guys like Geovany Soto and Reed Johnson.

Mac: Thanks for the call, Steve.

Anyone who would wait on hold to get 30 seconds of trying to cram your point in is the very definition of a lifeless loser.
