Thank you for disco demolition! It's been 33 years and disco still sucks!

I still remember playing sick from school to hear their last show together. End of an era, and really the beginning of the end for the Loop.

And they're both desperately trying to hang on to even a shred of relevance.

And failing.

Isn't Garry the highest rated show on WGN? I think hes doing pretty damn well.

I would love to hear Dahl on the Score.

Garry screwed the pooch twice. He was Mike North dumb in turning down the WLS offer a few years back. Roe and Garry was the goods.

I forgot about him teaming up with Roe.

That was good radio.

There is a high end photographer in Crown Point that years ago we took our kids to for a photo session. Sitting against a wall was a good size portriat of Roe and Garry in black and white. I asked her about it and she said they spent a lot on promotional stuff, then the holdout happened and they didnt need it any more and she didnt know what to do with it. I wonder if it is still there?

I remember when one of the guys who worked on Steve and Garry's show, I think his name was Mario or something like that, was going in for minor surgery (it's always "minor surgery" when it's not you having it) and they were joking with him about how he could die during surgery.

And then he did.

Anyone else remember that? I think in was in the late 80s.

I thought Garry went on his honeymoon and didn't come back after Dahl starting ripping on his wife? I don't remember there being a last show?

It was early '80s and I think his name was Marcus.

I heard Dahl sitting in for Roeper a few weeks ago and it was kind of sad. He kept making dumb jokes about bath salts like "whoa I can go get high at Bed Bath & Beyond? who would've guessed?" and stuff. Yeah, they're not actually bath salts. I also heard you can get high by smoking a weed, whoa, dandelions can get me fucked up? cool!

You are correct on both points Dr Ken. When the Loop fired Garry, Steve did come in on Garry's last show to wish him luck. It was beyond awkward.

Yeah, I've now gotten caught up in listening to old tapes. I think this will be my choice for the day.

If only there were a message board back then where I could have complained about how much time they were dedicating to talking about the Gary Dotson trial.

I did some construction work on the new library there. Very high end in my opinion.

Lakemoor is Crown Point's country cousin.

I was part of a group that got to sit in the studio during their heyday (I know...you're happy for me). It was pretty interesting and they were both very nice. Jim Johnson was not particularly sociable though.

They had a very good run. I listened to Roe pre-Garry but could not continue post. Garry was the perfect foil for Roe's nuttiness. I have been meaning to give him and Roeper a listen but just have never got around to it. Anyone else ever listen?

That's interesting because they made Jim seem really funny.
