The YouTube channel is because I'm a fan of the show. I never said I wasn't a fan of the show and I'm not sure how the channel even factors into this discussion.

Again, I don't think about Dan Bernstein when I'm watching sports. I'm not sure how many different ways I can relay that to you.

Fair enough point. I haven't listened since October, so everything I pick up is from that very active thread. Bernstein is completely useless to me as a sports talk host. If you like the shock jock format, then yes he stirs up interest. The only reason he is even worth talking about is because there is nothing else sports wise on the radio in that time slot. If the Mac show was on during my drive home, it would garner my ear.

Im sorry but when I saw Aaron Gray play or Tebow or any other athelete the show focus on, it reminds me of the show. I think that's natural.

I didn't even know he existed until Mac switched stations, a lot of people here would miss him, but Chicago sports radio would go on without missing a beat.

I would enjoy Bernstein a lot more if he hosted with someone who challenged him a bit. I dont know if i could do a Rosenbloom/Bernstein show everday but when they are on together because Rosenbloom ill challenge him a little bit. I dont know that anyone currently at the station could offer that.

The show has been increasingly dispensable since its editorial tone shifted from yelling at idiots to yelling at everyone. I'm sure I'll come back when they get to Bourbonnais, but I've tuned out most of the summer and don't really feel like I'm missing much.

He's a good host. He is smart. He is not the most interesting. He would be missed because the talent pool would be lowered but he is hardly essential.

Hood is the best sports talk host in this city. Mac is the best host on a sports talk station.

Agreed 100%. Dan desperately needs someone to reel him in occasionally, and Terry is basically Ed McMahon at this point. This is precisely why Mac has to replace Boers whenever he retires.

No doubt I'm a huge B&B fan, but I rarely, if ever, think of how Dan will react or what he will say about a game I'm watching. Just not on my radar.

Speaking of what I was watching, I was screaming "Shut the fuck up!!!" at my TV during last night's Cardinals/Brewers game. There was a female fan making bird noises non-stop during the last two innings. Most obnoxious thing I've ever heard.

I really think Dan is a bad person and wish he would have been eaten by a bear at CAMP.
I hope his son turns into Alex P Keaton but Dan is easliy the most talented and interesting host at the station.
I thought he was great solo and before politics and Important radio took over.

As others have mentioned he's helped by being surrounded by retreads and ass kissers and Larry.


The fact that his competition CJH have all been employed in sports radio for years in this town is all you need to know.
