I would agree with that assessment.

There's no shortage of folks who cannot bloody wait for their next opportunity to yell and scream about how they are offended, which is really just a signal to the rest of us that they are too emotionally retarded to control themselves therefore they will make their problem our problem too.

By the same token, I don't see how it's too terribly taxing to understand why Crawford didn't care for the INTENT - and that is the key in this instance - behind the otherwise mundane word 'monday'.

My guess is when people use a word like 'mondays' or 'canadians', they must suppose that they somehow get to avoid having to answer to scrutiny for out-and-out saying 'hey look at that pack of geniuses over there', even though there is no reasonable reason to think they meant anything other than that, they're just too cowardly to use the word they mean.

Therefore, they're arguably worse people because not only do they carry irrational disdain, but they're also too chicken-shit to stand up for their disdain.

This has been covered ad nauseum here. Cliffnotes version is that our country has an extensive history of white on black racism, and not the other way around. Since racial slurs toward black people come from a perceived position of power, they are looked at as more hurtful and damaging. I dont exactly subscribe to this way of thinking, but I understand its a more complex issue than can be described using the term "double standard"".

Still, there's no double standard here since there is nobody being called a cracker in this story. The double standard is in your proposed hypothetical.

In truth yeah I am. It implies a negative outlook on me because of my skin color. As I have said before. There are a lot better reasons to dislike/mistrust someone than the color of their skin.

FF the point I am making is that he got suspended for making a racial slur. Yet you can turn on the TV and you will be bombarded with the word cracker. We keep hearing that everyone needs to be treated equally but in reality it is not done. If it was cracker would not be an accepted part of our society.

I think Tuesday sucks worse than Monday. There are a lot of people just laying low on Monday trying not to get noticed. Tuesday is a full fledged work day with expectations and angry calls.

Totally agree. Monday is almost an extension of the weekend. A lot of people spend half the day just recaping the weekend or catching up from leaving early friday.


Tuesday is a dirty whore. Still have a LOOONG week ahead of you and the weekend buzz is completely gone.
