I feel I'm changing and evolving as a Sox fan. While i don't wish death upon Pedro and do appreciate his effort, he needs some coaching up before his next outing. Also, I just don't understand why the Sox have such difficulty against pitchers they haven't seen before, but other teams seem to feast on the Sox.

4 innings
12 hits
8 earned runs

Yeah the only problem was those 2 pitches

I didn't think they'd take 3 of 4 but Quintana needs to be big tomorrow and the Sox hitters gotta wake up. 2 outta 4 ain't too bad.

Quintana was awful in his start following the All-Star game. It's pretty important that he has a good performance that allows the team a chance to win and the bullpen a chance to rest a bit. The way Quintana pitched prior to the break, was critical to their 1st half sucess. They need him to get back to that form. Great job by Humber in settling down in game 2 of the series after the 1st inning. Had he not settled down, between that game and this one, the bullpen would have really been over-extended.

I follow Matt Spiegel on Twitter @MattSpiegel670, and he mentioned another guy who was just as bad as Pedro Hernandez in his MLB debut. I think you have to go back to when the Washington Nationals were still in Montreal as the Expos when Arnie Munoz lasted 3 innings and the Expos beat the White Sox by a football-like final of 17-14 many years ago.

Speaking of Hernandez, we hardly knew ye...He was optioned to Triple "A" Charlotte in favor of reliever Donnie Veal. He'll be in the bullpen, if needed, tonight in Boston.

He didn't pitch very well at all, but that's a tough spot for a kid to make his MLB debut. Hopefully he can keep working on things and be back with the big club at some point in Sept or next season.

I wish the Sox had Mike Trout.

Well, Mike Trout, the Garth Brooks-looking Mike Scioscia and the Anaheim Angels are here in 2 weeks. Hope you can wait from August 3-5 to see them. They start a 9-game White Sox homestand to start August.

They could have had him but instead they drafted Jared Mitchell. Oops.

WEEI SportsRadio, flagship of the Red Sox Radio Network, says the Red Sox will activate 2B Dustin Pedroia before tonight's finale vs. the White Sox. 1B Mauro Gomez, who was called up before last night's 10-1 Boston blowout of our Sox and went 1-for-4 DH-ing for the DL-ed David Ortiz, will be going right back to Triple "A" Pawtucket.

The Red Sox lineup is in and Dustin Pedroia is back in it tonight. Here's how they'll deal with White Sox lefty Jose Quintana:

2 Jacoby Ellsbury CF (L) .302
13 Carl Crawford LF (L) .500
15 Dustin Pedroia 2B (R) .266
28 Adrian Gonzalez 1B (L) .296
7 Cody Ross RF (R) .269
64 Will Middlebrooks 3B (R) .291
10 Kelly Shoppach C (R) .270
3 Mike Aviles SS (R) .261
77 Pedro Ciriaco DH (R) .400

Clay Buchholz does the chucking for Boston.

Red Sox fans will be bummed...Kevin Youkilis is not in tonight's White Sox lineup. These are the guys who'll deal with Red Sox righty Clay Buchholz with a notable change at the bottom in BOLD:

30 Alejandro De Aza CF (L) .277
10 Alexei Ramirez SS (R) .265
32 Adam Dunn DH (L) .210
14 Paul Konerko 1B (R) .322
51 Alex Rios RF (R) .316
12 A.J. Pierzynski C (L) .289
24 Dayan Viciedo LF (R) .259
15 Gordon Beckham 2B (R) .235
38 Eduardo Escobar 3B (S) .213

According to CSNChicago.com's Dan Hayes & The SCORE's Connor McKnight, Youkilis is out with a tight hamstring. Available to pinch hit tonight and expected to return to RV's lineup tomorrow in Detroit.

Motherfucker. Fuck you, Robin/Coop. Either stick with Quintana or bring the goddam closer in.

Crawford will be on 2rd (or 3rd) real soon. Adrian Gonzalez hits better against lefties than righties anyway....
