Bought a Sega Genesis.

So far, I have World Series Baseball, NHLPA 93 (must make Gretzky bleed), a couple of Sonic games, Bulls vs Lakers and the NBA playoffs, and a couple of other titles.

Anyone have any suggestions for other games to pick up?

I got some shitty NBA Jam ripoff called NBA Showtime or something like that. It sucks.

I'm looking for the original Mortal Kombat, too.

We are in the same boat, I helped my buddy move into a new house the other week and sitting in his moms basement was a Gen 1 Genesis and an NES collecting dust....I asked and I received.

To many good games to name, go on a ROM sight and filter the lists by user rating.

Also, search the internet for "Everdrive". It's a Genesis cart that has a slot for an SD card....that can be loaded (not sure if they come preloaded) with ROMs and such. In the end you could have one card/SD card that has every single NA Genesis (not sure if compatible with Mega Drive) game on it.

Yeah...we got on a bit of a nostalgia kick the last couple of weeks. The gf bought an Atari 7800 on ebay and it came with something like 80 games.

I forgot how much fun some of these were.

You're going to marry her, right?

Also, look into getting a Scart for it as well so you can play it, and have it look good, on an HDTV.

Pretty much

Also, we replaced the rf adaptor with some stuff from Radio Shack, and the Atari looks amazing on the 55 inch HD tv in the family room.

The Sega is hooked to a 60 inch projection tv in the basement, also looks amazing.

nba jam on the sega genesis is a joke.... it's awful. the SNES port/s at the time were also a different game engine too.

the only authentic port of the arcade game is a PC version of NBA JAM Tournament edition that ran on dos. if you've got an old gravis gamepad laying around, or perhaps something that's compatible with the old gamepad standard, that's the vintage NBA jam you want to play. it's got the same engine as the arcade game and everything is there, including the one visual effect that was noticeably missing from the home console ports: sprite scaling (where the characters get bigger as they move down the court / closer to the camera)

but yeah, NBA jam was my favorite game as a yute and i used to talk to developers who worked on it @ midway back in #vidgames in the 90s so i'm pretty much spot on with my NBA JAM knowledge here.

PS1, Saturn and even, yes, the Jaguar versions were pretty much arcade perfect and had sprite scaling. Although I do agree the DOS version was good as well.

Rented from President Video back in the day -- you could call the Fake FG on first down and complete it every time to one of the receivers... EVERY TIME.

NHL '94 and Sonic the Hedgehog 2. That's all the Sega games a man will ever need.

I remember my friends and I were on a California Games kick around 92-93, however it probably wasn't the greatest game.
