Patrick Kane and a problem with the bottle?

By the way, a late addition to the Game Plan. Baseball Prospectus' Kevin Goldstein breaks down the Cubs' trade of Ryan Dempster to the Braves coming up at 2:40P.

Is it any more of a stretch to think that attending a Penn State football game means anything more than simply liking them?

"If you were Ryan Dempster, would you feel comfortable pitching in Citizens Bank Park, knowing that the majority of people in the stands have, in effect, raped children?"

Statutory rape, actually, though nothing as confirmed as Doug Gilmour getting caught playing Bonk The Babysitter. It's just sort of wink-nudged around here that Kaner likes 17-year-olds.

In fairness to Bernstein, I think he'd support the death penalty for professional hockey in general.

Kevin Goldstein thinks prospects are more important than major league players.

Who gives a shit what he thinks.

A fan can like whomever they want.

I believe you are stating that an ex jock is a host on some pre-game show that is not the flagship, thusly not a part of the organIzation. I don't see how this is similar to having a head coach, AG and President of some institution (whatever it may be) actively hide the activities of someone on premises owned by said institution.

I officially apply to be The Score's Forensic Accounting expert.

I always hoped that those years in business school reviewing financial statement notes and deferred tax liability accounts would pay off with a high-profile sports radio segment.

Curious Hair, somebody threw Bobby Hull at me this weekend when I took exception to Brett Myers

Whats your take on the ol' shoe thrower?

I don't know if anyone remembers the name Steve Silverman. Longtime Scoreheads might remember Steve as a Pro Football Weekly reporter & occasional weekend host when The SCORE was up the dial. Steve now contributes to 670thescore.com and wrote the following about the NCAA's big time sanctions vs. Penn State football today and feels it's still not enough.

You know, while we're in proximity to the topic, did anyone else find it weird that Kane was excoriated for trying to pick up college girls? I think Jason was all "brothers don't go after young girls, you find yourself a nice woman who knows stuff," but

1) Kane is 23 years old, most of those girls were 18-22, which is at least 100% legal for him

2) Kane's whole adolescence has been kind of weird and alienated, when you stop and break it down, so no wonder he exists in this odd stage of arrested development.

Besides, if you're gash-hounding in the Badger State, you're pretty much gotta get in there early. Summer of '08, I was pursuing this girl who was heading off to Madison in the fall. She was cute, but we failed to establish much of a connection beyond agreeing that the Beatles were totally awesome. Indeed went off to school, aged five years in two. Beer is a food group to these people; no wonder they put the hard miles on.

Hold the phone! Kevin Goldstein is now Tweeting that the Cubs' trade of Ryan Dempster to Atlanta isn't a done deal, according to a source. MLB hasn't necessarily signed off. Money talks?

First of all, I wouldn't mess with anyone who could shot-put Bobby Hull in his current state. Beyond that, Hull was a Jew-hating wife-beater and I don't particularly care for him or his current vice-president-of-drinking-out-the-window role. Great player, bad guy; my cognitive dissonance regarding liking the Blackhawks in spite of him is largely mitigated by not even being born until 14 years after he bolted for Winnipeg. I hope he's atoned for his mistakes, for his sake more than mine.

Which means it's probably already done, cause he's a useless assbag.

I loved the song Buffone used to sing for him to the tune of "Silver Bells."

Speaking of Packers bad guys, anyone remember Davenpoop (as Jurko used to call him)? He crapped in his girlfriend's closet. Talk about spreading diseases. The Packers fans must be in favor of that!

Wisconsin is kind of a den of scatological depravity, so actually, I think they would.
