i love commercial breaks at 9:58. so it used to be that overrun was like a BONUS!!!!! for us, then it formally got scheduled in for ~5 mins setting up the more-than-occasional OVERRUN OVERRUN!

and now the main event is starting at 9:59pm, CENA just cashed in his MITB with PUNK, so we're going to have a "main event" that's likely less than 10 minutes of actual ringwork, and somehow cena or punk is going to get screwed tonight and start up a new feud heading to the next PPV.

with rock putting his hat in the ring for a title shot @ the royal rumble, who's he gonna face? is the E dumb enough to give us CENA ROCK 2!!!! THIS TIME THE PROMOS ARE EVEN POOPIER?!?!?!

punk/rock would work for me..... i think that'd be a hell of a program, but basically, cena's appeal to eight year olds, dude, eighter year olds is >>>> punk's "man of the smart marks" thing.... and well, the only real question left after all of this mind-numbing crap is WHERE ARE THE ICE CREAM BARS?!?!?!

yay i love 5-7 minute main events. it makes the last ~3hours and ~25 minutes of actual ringwork just feel so trivial in the wake of THE SEVEN MINUTE MAIN EVENT. it started at 9:59. if the daily show is boring i'll be sure to check back and see how it turns out. which crusty old superstar is going to come out and screw one of the two top guys in the company? I'M STAYING TUNED.... TO THE DAILY SHOW!!!

OMFG I MISSED BIG VAN VADER COMING BACK!?!?!?

lol. the only thing that could make this episode even more !!! is THE HULKSTER. he's noticeably absent from all fo the stuff that i've seen tonight.... then again, he was NEVER a big part of monday night raw, was he? even when WCW got bought out and he came back with the geriatric dudes and had his buildup to that big "passing of the torch" to the rock match at mania where he did, gasp, a face turn..... it wasn't that big of a deal on raw cuz they still had stonecold and DX and all that, right?

That sequence was better when Cena & RVD did it.

oh no punk's gonna drop the belt?! NOPERS! BIG SHOW SAVES IT WITH A DQ!!!!

does this mean that cena keeps the MITB?!?! if so, this was a VERY LEGENDARY ENDING TO A VERY LEGENDARY 1000TH EPISODE OF RAW.

but then again, vince did say their top priority was making the 1001th episode of raw the best that it could be. i can't wait to tune into the smackdown SUPER SHOW to find out what else is set up for raw 1001

OMFG ROCK BIG SHOW AT THE RUMBEL!!!!! YES!!!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS!!! SOMEONE GET BIG SHOW GUEST SPOTS ON MORE USA SHOWS! ROYAL PAINS CAN'T CONTAIN HIM.

tooth fairy 2: rock vs big show. the big show can be TUTH D.K.

and hey, rock/punk beef?!?! wow who saw this coming?!?!?! oh wait i did.

so is rock coming in on RAW 1000 to job to punk some sort of a nod to punk's "anonymous" comments about how bigtime "dewayne" is backstage? either way after the THRILLING match of a lifetime that was cena/rock at the last mania, having PUNK/ROCK at THE RUMBEL is gonna beeee huggggeeeee. until we have the second match of a generation and basically set up a program of rock/cena headlining every mania til hogan and flair can get out of their TNA contracts.

"cm punk has turned on the WWE universe" ?!?! lol. this is punk going heel? even cole is somber to sell this ending. HUGE1 BRING ME THE RUMBEL ASAP!

Punk turning on Cena would get him cheered, but going after The Rock is maybe the only way he can get legit heel heat. I imagine he'll probably tween for a while though. Too bad The Useless Show is still lurking around the main event scene.

No way this company can put together a 3 hour show every week.

Show started great and went decidedly downhill.

Also, wouldn't Punk's turn look loads more important if he didn't appear incompetent/out of Cena's league moments before?

Good show. Glad Austin didn't show up. Standard vanilla stuff at the end, even with your champion turning heel. It's a corporation kids, not a wrestling company.

Surprised to not see Stone Cold.

Show had its ups and downs, but overall I enjoyed it.

Dude I plan on going back on hiatus from watching this shit .... I was promised great things by tonight's show, I only know of three:

1) Proper DX super happy fun time (incl'g Lanny Poffo 3000)
2) The Mae Young hand payoff
3) Sean Mooney

It is going to be challenging because they can't rely on the old guys every week to fill the void. They actually have to get guys over and stuff.

Heel Punk only works if The Rock is the one to eventually beat him. If its Cena then no thanks.

They can start filling those 3 hours by featuring more Sandow...lots more Sandow and that middle eastern Mahal guy can get some time as well.

Forgot the biggest and bestest one:

Punk turning heel to end the show. Towering over not only Cena, but The Rock.

Awesome.

Nope. He's a tweener at best. He had to drop the face gimmick to wrestle Rock, 'cause it would happen anyway, because people are always going to cheer the Rock (except in Toronto at Wrestlemania).

In the meantime, if he has to work, they'll throw lower-tier faces at him to chew up the weeks until the showdown.

That being the case, I don't have to watch intently, I can just read the rags once in a while.

But it was fun caring about wrasslin' again.

I'm sorry but that wasn't enough for me to call that a legitimate heel turn. Big deal. He popped the guy that said he will beat him at royal rumble. Why the fuck did big show need to be a part of this? Awful, awful last 20 minutes. Fucking waste. I think this show is coming off my DVR. Fuck this show. Fuck their lack of creativity.

That's where The Crew, the IS0P, the Drinky Alliance etc....all failed.

It still comes back to Reason, Biggie, Dr. Ken, Midge, good dolphin, KS,............... :P

Drinky Alliance is main eventing! I picture KS as Hacksaw Jim Duggan wandering aimlessly with a 2x4 screaming HOOOOOOO!!! while sticking his tongue out

Yep.

I think people (not here) are insane thinking this was some great show.

If this is the quality of shows going forward, TNA will continue to be the best wrestling show on TV.

I thought it was a fun show. Nothing amazing, groundbreaking or revolutionary though and it did nothing to make show 1001 any better than show 999.

They needed a big angle for NOW to get over and get back on track to being the best show on TV(wrestling wise). They didn't come close to that but they did build Punk to be an even bigger star.
