Braves traded Saltalamaccia, Harrison, Feliz, and Andrus for Texiera. I know Texiera is a great hitter but still, the Braves clearly "give up good talent."

Asshole is in the clubhouse. Fuck him. This deal is dead. I hope they boo the shit out of him in his next start at home. He had the right to screw the Cubs organization and its future and he did just that.

Dempster says he's taking time to weigh options on what's right for him. Plans to pitch for Cubs tomorrow.

I love these guys that have to be convinced to join a pennant race. Fred McGriff

He obviously wants to go out Kerry Wood style.

I don't get why he wouldn't have had this conversation with his family prior to yesterday/today?

BINGO!!!!!

The "Dempster will be traded" scenario has only been going on since....oh....SPRING TRAINING??? And now he's "blindsided" by a potential trade to a team he specified? What a fucking asshat. Grow up. Maybe the Cubs should sit down next offseason and offer him a 3 year deal and then pull it off the table when he picks up the pen to sign it. Extremely bad form and makes your new bosses look very bad.

I hope someone has told Garza he might be traded. I'd hate to see another "blindsided" scenario.

Demp: Decision "gets harder when something that wasn't supposed to become public knowledge becomes public knowledge."

Okay. Fuck off Ryan. Sorry you are butt hurt because the media was doing its job. The Cubs now either have to basically give him away to LA before the deadline or just sit him for the year. I'm aware the second part is irrationally angry

Just let him know that for the rest of his starts the bullpen is not coming him to get him off the hook he has to get all 27 outs solo from here on out.

Even making one more start this year is losing significant value for the acquiring team. And he wants 'options' aka holding the Cubs hostage to go the team he will waive his NTC for.

You can not put him out there tomorrow. It will only devalue him more. If he wants to pitch again then he knows where to sign.

This is a great idea...

Oh, you wanted to keep pitching for the Cubs huh? Here ya go. Still pitch every 5th day but enjoy 150 pitch counts ya fuck face.

and mix in some completely unnecessary pinch running

And pinch hitting, the inning after a Cub pitcher hits someone else

Yep. Pinch run during a 100 degree day game.

Not allowing the Cubs bullpen to enter a game is considered a punishment??

Ryan Dempster

Who is he? Lets examine

I wanna be clear, as much as I tired of his lame antics, the guy was pretty decent as a Cub. But thats it. Pretty decent

He gets credit for NOT being a guy who was hated

He was a breath of fresh air after Hawkins was the closer. (Even though it was Dempster that gave up the Victor Diaz homerun)

But, he was better than terrible LaTroy Hawkins....so he became beloved.

Then he became a starter and had a good year. That would have been enough on its own but he got extra props for NOT being Zambrano. People couldnt WAIT to call him the Ace.

(CSFMB TRIVIA. Lou making the mistake of starting him in game one is what drove me to make my first post here)

I liked the move and moves of that ilk. Using your funds to do what other teams cant and pay a guy, a former supposed phenom, to rehab and maybe he makes it

It was awesome that it worked out. That was one of Hendry's better moves/gambles

But, when you peel away the LaTroy/Zambrano stuff. And set aside his terrible comedy, he's been very much Ted Lilly. A solid #2 or #3 on a good team

This post has no direction. Im just kind of Riiffing, but after hearing Laurence Q. Holmes (and BTW Laurence. Dont tell me I WOULD DO THE SAME THING. I WOULDNT. A LOT OF PEOPLE WOULDNT. A LOT OF PEOPLE WOULD HAVE JUST BEEN HONEST IN THE BEGGINNING AND SAID, LA OR NOTHING OR IM NOT SURE WELL CROSS THAT BRIDGE WHEN WE COME TO IT) say he also has the Yankees on his list, Im bothered.

IF its true he wants an extension, it would be a very small leap to surmize that Dempster is targeting the "big markets"

A lot of players do that, you say?

True

But, why? To win? For money?

Those make sense

I believe Dempster is looking at his post career career and thinks he's super hilarious and needs to be in a major market so he can start on the road to taking over the Tonight Show.

Ryan, Im quite certain you read this board. You are not that funny. Even among your MLB peers you dont really stand out as funny. You are the guy that tells everyone how funny he is.

Your best case scenario post career is probably Kevin Millar/Eric Byrnes. You can do that....ANYWHERE. New York and LA dont need you....and you dont need them.

Oh and this has been quite the flex of control (Yeah, I know he has the right.) from you. "You'll hear it here first"-his fucking twitter

Thats it, Im done with this witness.

Time to add a partner to this DB

I always thought he wanted a job in the media that still kept him around the Cubs organization. The last few days events have probably made that highly unlikely.

My twitter was full of RTs yesterday about people wishing Ryan nothing but the best...I even saw a couple where the sentiment was "he's done so much for the Cubs...hopefully he can go get his ring now!"

I know I don't pay a lot of attention to the Cubs, but did I miss some years of glory or something? Yesterday I read a lot of fans making him out to be a Mark Grace like figure who they were going to root for in his quest to finally get a ring.
