So then why are you mad that RV put a more accomplished hitter at the top on the lineup?

Seems like Robin fixed what was broken.

Detroit fixed their lineup, with an assist from Ozzie.

It'll be that much more fun when they lose.

I'm disappointed right now that Beckham hasn't been as productive in the #9 spot as he was in the #2. In fact, stats don't lie. Beckham was hitting .265 with 7 HR's & 29 RBI's as a #2 hitter and I thought he was most productive there. He's not doing so good at the bottom, even though he took it as a pro.

Besides, when the White Sox acquired Kevin Youkilis from the Red Sox, I expected him to be around #6 in the batting order. I thought he was more of an RBI guy when he was in Boston, and I was surprised to see Youkilis batting 2nd when the White Sox acquired him. Another problem that I have with Youk in the #2 is that our Sox tend to clog the bases with Adam Dunn & Paul Konerko right behind him.

Make no mistake about it as well. Youkilis has been real good since his arrival, but he's in the wrong spot in this lineup in my opinion.

My stance has cooled considerably after listening to Rongey's postgame last night. You'd think White Sox fans would want to talk about Adam Dunn's 30th homer or Paul Konerko's 4-hit night in the Sox 11-4 win over the Twins, right? Wrong. They wanted to talk about Gordon Beckham's struggles in the #9 spot and going 0-for-4 last night. You can't please everybody.

I find it hard to understand why so many people still want to shuffle him around the lineup to "get him going". He's not a major league hitter. Likely won't be. He kinda is what he is at this point.

If they wan't to improve Beckham's production they should shuffle him back down to Triple A where he belongs

Going from 2 to 9 won't change the fact that he can't hit all that well.

Guys, that's not happening. The White Sox rushed Beckham to the bigs after 59 minor league games in 2009. They're probably regretting it in hindsight. You want Orlando Hudson playing everyday at second base instead? He's not much better.

With this team, Youkilis is best at two. The only one with speed that can hit is De Aza. And his average is dropping. I like Dunn between Youk and Konerko but I'd prefer Paulie at 3, Dunn at 4 and Youk at five but there's not a "traditional" two hitter here. It kinda reminds me of the 83 Sox when LaRussa moved Fisk to the 2 spot. It worked. Paulie cant be at two so for this team the top 4 are probably best where they are.

Beckham is what he is. He cant hit but he can field. He should never bat anywhere but 9th. He's gotta go.

NOne of this matters unless the starting pitching out pitches Detroit. They need three guys (Sale, Peavy and ???) to bring it home in September.

Three problems. First, neither Orlando Hudson nor Eduardo Escobar are any better than Beckham at the plate. Second, none of the White Sox minor league guys are Major League ready to actually replace Beckham at second base. Third, you may not be aware of this, but the other option is no longer with the Sox. That's Oswaldo Martinez, whom the Sox got with P Jhan Marinez as compensation for Ozzie Guillen when Guillen became manager of the mess that's the Miami Marlins. Oswaldo got dealt to the Dodgers in a deal that fell under the radar last month.
