If you've been following the ongoing Penn State scandal talk on this program, you know Pro Football Hall of Famer Franco Harris is among those who swung the bat for ex-head coach Joe Paterno. Guess what? Franco was crying foul this morning on "The Dan Patrick Show" with guest host Bonnie Bernstein (no relation) about the unprecedented NCAA sanctions levied earlier this week by President Mark Emmert. Franco's latest remarks can be found here:

http://www.danpatrick.com/2012/07/26/fr ... re-unfair/

Whether or not Terry & Dan B. air Franco's latest remarks remain to be heard, but I think he might get some "WYC" come 5P this afternoon. In addition to that and HC Bill O'Brien's surprising extension, even though he's yet to coach 1 game in (Un)Happy Valley, PA, here's what else the guys might discuss...

*Zack Greinke on the White Sox Radar?
*Ryan Dempster & Matt Garza Not Going Anywhere?
*MLB Trade Deadline Rumors
*Bears' Training Camp-First Practice

Speaking of the Bears, Bernsy discusses them in his latest column:

Really, SHARK?

Our Fallen Radio Heros will be all over PSU once again and will definitely be leading the charge with Franco's comments as the vanguard.

I think it's about time to start ignoring the "PSU deniers" like we do the Holocaust deniers. There will always be crazies out there.

This fucking walking CTE patient really needs to stop talking, or at least, stop being given a microphone. He's upset with everything but the only thing that matters.

Tough for him to full of anyone else, isn't it?

Exactly, but while I bet Bernstein would accept the existence of only a small group Holocaust crazies, the PSU scandal is different with him. Franco Harris's ramblings=the beliefs of most former players. A small group of local townies gathering near the statue=all of western PA.

I don't know what's harder to swallow. The idiotic remarks Franco Harris and others have said supporting Joe Paterno and the former administration who put Penn State football in this mess or the surprising extension for new head coach Bill O'Brien that'll keep Bill in (Un)Happy Valley, PA through 2020. He hasn't even coached a damn game!

SHARK O'Brien negotiated in his deal that if there were sanctions he would get extended past the sanctions. So when the sanctions kicked in that automatically took effect. They didn't like renegotiate after the fact or anything.

It gives O'Brien time to recruit when he actually has scolarships to do so

Doesn't he have fewer scholarships to offer as a result of NCAA sanctions?

Yeah that's why they extended him past when the sanctions last.

Bernsy says opposition to sanctions is getting louder in (Un)Happy Valley, PA. I thought the university signed off on such sanctions. Is anyone aware there were reports of a "Death Penalty" that could've lasted 4 years at Penn State?

Anytime someone asks Bernsie "have you seen that" related to anything related to Penn St., I immediately roll my eyes, in my mind.

I don't think ESPN bosses would be thrilled if Bernsy referred to them as "Booyah Radio" instead of ESPN Radio. Wishful thinking, my friend.

I think the fact that victim 2 has stepped forward is big news actually. That's the kid that McQueary saw with Sandusky.

Is no other radio station allowed to broadcast within Bristol's city limits?

OKC, this is what you're referring, courtesy of Patriot News' Sara Ganim...

That's not what I meant. Bristol, CT may be the home of ESPN, but they wouldn't be too thrilled if Bernsy called them "Booyah Radio" like he always refers to that network. Dan Patrick calls his former employers "the Mothership".

Here's the Thursday Game Plan with the guys:

*2P: Former Sports Illustrated NBA Scribe Jack McCallum-2012 Team USA Basketball/Dream Team Book Talk
*2:40P: Miami Herald's Greg Cote-Miami Marlins' Fire Sale
*3P: "The Dan Patrick Show": Guest Host Bonnie Bernstein (No Relation) w/Pro Football HOF Franco Harris-Penn State Sanctions "Unfair"
*3:30P: "The Second Half"
*4:40P: Cubs/Comcast SportsNet's Len Kasper-Cubs' Trade Rumors/Weekend Preview vs. the Cardinals: Sponsored by Budweiser
*5P: "Who Ya Crappin'?"

"Scoreboard Updates" w/Matt Abbatacola

The season premiere of "Bears All Access" airs @ 6P tonight with host Zach Zaidman, Bears' QB Jay Cutler & WR Brandon Marshall as ZZ's guests for the whole hour. PTFB? Believe it. Terry's "two favorite words in show business", Laurence Holmes, has the nighttime SCORE starting @ 7P followed by one-third of Laurence's "A Team", Connor McKnight, hosting from 10P-Midnight. McKnight leads into "SCORE Overnight" @ Midnight with Les Grobstein & Adam Harris.
