- Kelly Kelly was apparently backstage at RAW last night but not used.

- The biggest surprise backstage at RAW 1000 last night was Steve Austin not appearing on TV. Austin was rumored to be in St. Louis yesterday but wasn't. There have been no tweets from Austin either.

F4Wonline.com reports that Austin is in California working on the movie Grown Ups 2 and he wasn't a big enough star to where he could just take a day away from filming to appear on RAW

Per Pwowrestling.com

If that is the case I am surprised they did not do a live video chat with him or at least a recorded interview. I mean you are talking about the biggest star the E has had in their years of doing RAW

Agree about not doing at least a recorded interview with Austin. I thought for sure he was the one that was going to come out with Bryan and Punk. On a side note, it sounds like they're recruiting everyone for Grown Ups 2.

I don't doubt Austin is telling the truth, but he's stated many times he wants to be featured on any return. I was almost glad he wasn't there, unless he was going to do something huge at the end.

Here is Austin's explanation,

The reason I did not attend RAW 1,000 was because I underwent a major knee surgery on my left knee on July 2, 2012. Dr. Neal ElAttrache of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, CA performed the surgery.

The surgery was a complete success. I am currently three weeks post op. I began physical therapy a few days ago. I had a world class surgeon and a great medical team working on me. I am now working with a top notch PT team. I am still on crutches and will probably lose the crutches in another week. Then I will be in a custom knee brace much like the braces I wore in the ring for 9-12 weeks.

STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN IS A 100% ASS KICKING MACHINE. There was no way I was going to limp down the ramp on crutches for RAW 1,000. It was time to get my knee fixed. The decision to no-show RAW 1,000 was made by me and no one else. I have always taken pride in making my shots and have never faked an injury or illness. Pro Wrestling is a tough game and it was time to pay the piper for some of the damage I incurred in the ring. No gripes. No complaints

Ok that makes sense. Hope his recovery goes well.

But they missed a golden opportunity with this. They could have done a reverse hospital scene with Vince hitting Austin with a bedpan this time around. . .

- Kharma confirmed on Twitter this week that she was indeed released from WWE. A fan asked if it was true that Kharma was "granted" her release from WWE. Kharma replied:

"yes, I was. It doesn't mean I'll never be back."

- Regarding Alex Riley's status with WWE, it's said that he lost his push that was in the works because of a backstage incident with John Cena.

PWInsider.com reports word going around is that a while back, Riley was backstage with John Cena and Cena was ribbing him in front of some of the other wrestlers. Riley reportedly came back angrily at Cena, which was seen as him "breaking the code of the locker-room."

Cena is a jackass

- Randy Orton is scheduled to return to WWE TV next week during RAW from Cincinnati, OH. Orton is also scheduled for the SmackDown tapings in Indianapolis, IN.

Despite his recent suspension and reported heat with WWE management, he is expected to be pushed upon returning because of WWE's depth issues with the roster.

WE is featuring an article about CM Punk's heel turn on last night's Raw and if it was justified.

In the article they note that John Cena is now the first Superstar to ever cash in the Money in the Bank contract and not win the title, despite not losing the match. The article also states that Cena's "only one" opportunity to cash in the contract is "gone."

Ugh, this is so typical post-Attitude Era WWE. Why not instead of relying on a security blanket who's not that great of draw anyway and who could be fired from the company at any moment to main event you actually use what name value he has to address the depth issues on the roster and get other guys over? Pushing the same guys constantly whilst burying the rest of the roster and then using the buried roster to justify further pushes for the same guys is not a virtuous cycle.

So lets take a look at this potential card, shall we? Keeping in mind this is supposed to be your second biggest show of the year coming a few weeks of the "biggest raw in history"

Dolph Ziggler vs. Chris Jericho

Triple Main Event
Lesnar w/Heyman vs Triple H (w/Stephanie in corner? That'd be fun)

Alberto Del Rio vs. Sheamus (c)

Big Show vs. John Cena vs. CM Punk (c)

I suppose CM Punk could get somebody totally different to face off against and leave Show and Cena to do yet another one on one yawner. Maybe Randy Orton comes back as face to take on Punk? Will the tag titles make it on a PPV show? As many of you know I was not happy with what raw1000 left for raw1001. 1000 was fun, but just did very little to move things forward for 01. I can't even imagine how they will fill three hours next week. Right now I'm more interested in the non-title matches on the card.

Please no more Big Show.

F4Wonline.com reports that The Rock is scheduled to win the WWE Title at the 2013 Royal Rumble pay-per-view and then defend it against John Cena at WrestleMania 29.

- We had been talking about WWE planning a big summer angle, similar to the Nexus and CM Punk "pipebomb" angles of the past few years. The CM Punk heel turn on RAW 1000 was that long-planned angle.

- There were lots of people within WWE that wanted Ric Flair to appear at the RAW 1000 episode this past Monday. Flair not being there shows how serious WWE is about not pursuing talents that have had recent ties to TNA while the TNA vs. WWE lawsuit is going on.

- As some may have guessed after he won the Money in the Bank briefcase, Dolph Ziggler is indeed being groomed for a run with the World Heavyweight Title. Regarding how he is looked at backstage, Ziggler is known for being a good worker and it's said that all of the top babyfaces in WWE want to work with him.

With the ratings success of the weekly "Legends" segments on Raw, WWE's booking committee are considering making the feature a regularity by having one former Superstar brought back on every show.

Kevin Nash continues to rant about the NWO being brought back and says he just wants WWE Champion CM Punk involved. He wrote last night:

"CM Punk can pick who he wants if not me I'm cool with that .just think the brand is so strong an he can continue it with his skill and edge"

Antonio Cesaro defeated WWE United States Champion Santino Marella in a non-title match on last night's WWE SmackDown. Cesaro wants a title shot now. He wrote on Twitter:

"After my victory over @milanmiracle on tonight's #smackdown I demand to be named the #1 contender for the US Championship"

- Days after AJ Lee was named the new RAW General Manager, no new GM was announced for the SmackDown brand. WWE's website has a new feature up asking if Friday nights really needs a General Manager or not.

Former WWE Women's Champion Sable was backstage at Monday's Raw 1,000 as she accompanied husband Brock Lesnar to the show. She has accompanied him to shows before to keep him company since he detests being away from his family, even for a short while.

Fans have speculated that with Lesnar's renewed partnership with WWE, the legendary Diva could return to television as well. That, however, is believed to be highly unlikely. According to people close to the couple, she has absolutely no desire to return to the spotlight and is very content being a homebody

Sounds like we get Orton back this week.

I would also say if there building towards Punk-Rock at Rumble, I would keep the belt on Punk untill then.

Looks like Orton does not get it still, this is what happens when you get the royal treatment

Randy Orton returned to action Monday night on Raw after serving a 60-day suspension for his second violation of WWE's Talent Wellness Program.

Heath Slater called out any current WWE Superstar in the back to answer his challenge and The Viper responded by pummeling The One-Man Band all over the ring. After blasting Slater with a powerslam and a DDT off the second rope, Orton nailed him with the RKO to gain the pinfall victory. WWE.com spoke to The Legend Killer after defeating The One-Man Band.

"I gotta say, I am very rested due to my 60-day "vacation." Guys threw me huge party today, a welcome back party. They literally set the stage on fire," Orton said. "I feel better than ever. I gotta say during my ten, eleven-year career here in the WWE, I haven't felt this good, as good as I do today, and I think I just proved that out there a little while ago."

He continues, "I've been at home and I've been watching and I see Heath Slater, week in, week out calling out these Legends. I used to to do the same thing and I'm thinking to myself, "I'm the Legend Killer, the original Legend Killer." But he's not even doing it right, he's like the reverse Legend Killer. But tonight, I just couldn't stand back here and let him go on yapping his gums. He got his a** kicked last week in my hometown of St. Louis at the 1000th episode of Raw and you know what? Sorry Heath, but you're going to get your a** kicked if you flap your gums like that with Randy Orton backstage."

could not happen to nicer people

The Greenwich Time is reporting that Vince and Linda McMahon are down $500 million due to the drop of the company's stock price.

In 2010, the price was $18.64 a share. At the current $7.86 a share, the value of their 46 million shares has dropped to a little over $360 million, down from almost $860 million.

Critics feel that they care more about winning a Senate seat than they do about their shareholders. WWE is pinning the blame on WWE Studios for the stock drop.

- WWE officials were impressed with Billy Gunn and his interactions with Shawn Michaels on Raw 1,000 and the belief is he'll receive at least one match on a future televised show. Meanwhile, many backstage feel Sean "X-Pac" Waltman didn't appear in great shape on the milestone episode so it is unlikely that he'll be brought back for a match.

Some people were surprised that with WWE's TV-PG directive and Linda McMahon running for United States Senate, officials had no problem having Waltman appear on television despite his involvement with a sex tape years ago. Some people backstage were also joking about how friendly Gunn was with everyone considering that he challenged Triple H and Shawn Michaels to a "shoot" fight years ago.

- After AJ Lee was named General Manager of Raw last week on Raw 1,000, her first act in the position was to grant Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson a WWE Championship Match at the Royal Rumble. The angle, however, was nixed due to time constraints and Johnson announced that he would face whoever the WWE Champion is at the pay-per-view event.

WWE plans to downplay Johnson's upcoming title shot until after the Survivor Series on November 18 as to not draw attention away from any of the other shows they have to promote in the meantime. Officials also want Royal Rumble, which takes place in Phoenix, Arizona, to be sold out by November.

Steve Keirn announced in front of the live crowd at tonight's FCW show in Tampa, FL., that The Undertaker and Michelle McCool were expecting their first child together.

WWE officials feel that Jinder Mahal has the potential to be one of their top heels, which is part of the reason why he's currently working a feud with Ryback.

John "Bradshaw" Layfield teased on Twitter that he would be replacing Booker T on commentary on SmackDown. Here is what he wrote.

I was only debating coming back, not very serious. But after @MichaelCole shows he is still alive and an idiot. I'm coming back! #smackdown
