It wouldn't surprise me. Guillen got his cash and Z got his manager.

It's May. Once something is on the line the tripwire will be sprung and he'll rip out his own entrails in rage.

i dunno....he is smart enough to know his reputation is shit...he is a free agent after the season and not many teams will have interest..he needs to keep his composure and pitch well to have a job next year.

I do find it interesting that Theo Damn Epstein has been so lauded in the Chicago press and on local sportsradio for discovering the latest and greatest market inefficiencies and exploiuting them. It seems to me that the most obvious current inefficiency is to take a chance on a previously elite player who has fallen out of favor with his current ballclub while getting that club to pay the majority of said player's salary. It appears to me that Theo is the one being exploited rather than the one doing the exploiting.

Valid point, but I disagree. It was def. time for him (and ARam) to go.

Ozzie is pulling the same shit he did with the Sox. He has a highly talented team that gets out of the gate slow to the point where it takes a big winning streak just to get to .500. He's not going to have that interleague bump that always saved him from late may until the all star break.

What do you mean pulling the same shit? Do you think he is purposefully telling his team to lose on purpose and start the season slow, and then to save themselves with a long winning streak?

Yes, that is exactly what I think.

@DKnobler: Marlins announce Carlos Zambrano going to the bullpen. LeBlanc to rotation.

I would love to have seen the conversation when Z was informed of his new relief role.
