ZZ can't be overly critical because of his need to maintain relationships inside Halas Hall and with the players on the field....same with Larry. The Bears don't pay him in ducats but they do pay him with interviews, info(I guess) and access. No excuses for him, it's how the game is played.

Now, when he reports to the Sandy Vagina Show, ZZ tells them what he sees and hears. Mac and Meat ask questions and then it's over. What else do they expect?

Of course it's useless, it's information from camp. It's fluff, ZZ isn't going to go digging deep for some crazy breaking news story or whatever. This is what he is supposed to do. Talk about the Bears, which he does...I'm not sure what your expectations are for Edward R. Zaidman?

I want him to report what he sees even if it may be negative. He won't do that so you can't trust anything he says. I'm not talking about breaking Bears stories but if a Bears first round pick looks lost out there then just say that he looked lost out there.

Basically, whatever inside information he gains is wasted by the fact that he won't use any of that information unless it puts the Bears in a positive light. In reality, the Score would be better if they never had Zack on and instead sent an intern to watch practice and give them a report.

In a perfect world of unbiased sources and reporters this would be true. I agree. If he started telling the stories, giving the info and such, well, he wouldn't get any access and the players wouldn't come on his show to act like 5 year children and on and on.

I think we agree more than we disagree on this, BR.

Its also not his job to defend any and all Bears from any statement that could possibly be perceived as negative, which is what he does frequently.

The point though is that with Zack he doesn't ever use that information to the advantage of the listener. We would literally be better off if every person associated with the Bears hated Zack and gave him no information but he could report what is actually going on.
