Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Phillies have traded outfielder Shane Victorino to the Dodgers for right-handers Josh Lindblom and Ethan Martin.

The Dodgers are loading up. Victorino, Kemp and Ethier will make one hell of an outfield. The NL west will be a fun watch.

That's a better back up plan than trading for Soriano

All indications are pointed that way, while Shane Victorino's a Dodger. One of those two, if not both, might be postseason-bound. The Giants & Dodgers are thisclose in the NL West right now.

The new ownership group is really going for it. They say winning puts asses in the seats (few exceptions) so I doubt they're worried about salaries.

Which one? The Dodgers? Money's no object, especially with Magic Johnson & longtime MLB executive Stan Kasten calling the shots in Los Angeles now.

When I think LA baseball, the Dodgers come to mind first. The Angels have made headway themselves in recent years, but they still play in Anaheim. That's not Los Angeles...

The Pirates have acquired first baseman Gaby Sanchez from the Marlins for outfielder Gorkys Hernandez and a competitive balance pick.

Another good trade by the Pirates. Sanchez is a big upgrade over Casey McGehee and Hernandez is expendable after the acquisition of Travis Snider. Sanchez is also under team control for the next 3 seasons.

Sanchez has really sucked this year, I don't know if it was that huge ballpark or what, but he majorly regressed. I agree with you though, I do like the trade for the Pirates. Change of scenery can do wonders.

He did start out slow but they only gave him 183 AB's before they pulled the plug. He had back to back 19 home run seasons. he will add some much needed punch to the Pirates lineup.

Gaby Sanchez was so bad, the Marlins sent him back to Triple "A" New Orleans for a time.

Affirmed.

The Cardinals acquired reliever Edward Mujica from the Marlins for third baseman Zack Cox.

Damn that's a lot to give up for a middle reliever. Cox was the 20th pick in the 2010 draft out of Arkansas. St Louis aggressively moved him through the system as he's already in triple A. Cox hasn't hit for power but he still has time to develop. Nice trade by the Marlins
